In order to adopt the most suitable material for making camshafts, Yoshimura Japan uses a quality-controlled material (a kind of ductile cast iron) for this new product.
In addition, laser quenching was performed to optimize the material.
Please feel the camshaft made by pursuing "high precision and high durability" with high hardness, low distortion and high lubricity by new material and laser quenching.

■Original cam profile setting Yoshimura's camshafts are designed by our original know-how.
The design of the profile begins with knowing the specifications of the standard engine.
The profile characteristics of the Yoshimura camshaft are determined based on the engine speed and characteristics to be used.
The next step is to express the determined profile characteristics in numerical values.
From form to number......Yoshimura's years of expertise have led to a unique profile.
A prototype camshaft with the profile created in this way is installed in the engine and checked to see if it actually has the characteristics as expected.
If the expected characteristics are not obtained, the design is redone from the beginning.
Yoshimura's original cam profile is derived after the repetition of this series of work.
■Consistent production control Yoshimura has consistent production control including centering.
The camshafts are machined from the ground up in the company with great care given to the materials used to reproduce the profile.
The manufacturer does not apply heat to the camshafts, as it may cause distortion, deformation and strength loss.
In order to make the camshaft hard enough for the engine, the best heat treatment is selected from various methods and applied.
