Story

The right riding position

When you get a stock motorcycle, you know that it hasn't been tuned by anyone, that's great. But it also means that there could be 10,000 people riding the same model as you, with this same riding position.

story0001.jpg

"The stock position is too sensitive for sports riding," "I want more bank angle."... Different riders have different heights, weights, limb lengths, and riding preferences. Position is very important in stepping work, which is required not only for tracks, but also for touring, street riding, and all riding styles.

What's the point of rearsets?

Getting Comfortable

story05.jpg

Left: Type adjusted by changing the step position
Right: Type adjusted by step plate

You can change the position from the stock, which is suitable for everyone, to the one you prefer. A more stable base means less strain on your body to keep you held on the bike, meaning greater comfort and less energy spent during your riding time.

Better grip

One of the features of the rearsets is that the step has a machined knurling process. These jagged edges grab your boots and don't let go! They act as a non-slip surface when you step on the step. This makes it easier to knee-grip and feel more in tune with the bike. It also keeps you from slipping when riding in the rain! The stock steps have non-slip surfaces, but the rearsets are even sharper and more finely machined.

They look the business

The complex shapes and the beauty of the finishes, which cannot be easily achieved by casting, create a sense of luxury.

Getting stronger

  • Strength is easy to obtain.
  • Almost no variation in individual products.

Since the metal is machined as it is, the original strength of the material can be obtained. Therefore, when the step load is applied, you can feel the movement of the rear suspension with your feet and get a crisper ride compared to stock.

Baby Face

Baby Face is a parts manufacturer with 38 years of history in Osaka, Japan, focused on machined aluminum, stainless steel and dry carbon.

story11.jpg

In the early days of the company, they started with the maintenance of racing motorcycles and then started manufacturing exhausts that they thought they needed, which was the start of their career as a parts manufacturer.

story14.png

Since then, they have always been producing what they want, based on their policy of "good looking first", "high performance", and "within reach". Baby Face's motto is "Never forget the user's point of view". Their research and development continues, and they have been the first to introduce many products and parts that are now commonplace.

story09.jpg

For example, the multi-position step, the use of bearings in moving parts, and the frame sliders that minimize damage in the event of an accident. Baby Face's products have been aggressively marketed overseas and are highly regarded by riders around the world.

"SATO RACING"

If you are in the United States, you may not be unfamiliar with this logo.

Sato_EXlogobadge_750x230.jpg

SATO RACING is the international brand identity for BABY FACE Inc. Founded in Osaka, Japan in the 1980's by Katsuhiko 'Babyface' Sato, BABY FACE started out building race bikes.

story15.jpg

By the late-'90's the company was making a name for itself fabricating ultra-lightweight titanium exhaust systems and other specialized racing parts. Sensing there would be strong demand for the company's premium quality racing parts outside of Japan, Mr. Sato decided it was time to expand internationally.

story16.jpg

By 2001, a US distribution warehouse was established in California, and exhaust systems made by his company were being regularly imported and sold under a new brand name, SATO RACING.

story17.jpg

Last year they celebrated 20th anniversary in the U.S. SATO RACING continues to grow and expand, and they are committed to continue supporting all existing owners of SATO RACING's parts to the best of their abilities, along with continually bringing more new and exciting parts to their lineup in the future as new sport bike models are introduced.

Products

With the exception of special treatments such as anodizing, all of the products released by Baby Face, both machined and dry carbon products, are designed, prototyped, and mass-produced in-house. Based on past know-how, feedback from users, and actual effects, the materials used for the metal parts and plastic parts of the slider have been carefully selected to suit the application and purpose.

Performance Rearset Kits

The Baby Face Rearset Kits are machined from aluminum and stainless steel alloys. The concept of the product is to provide the best function, quality and design. The products are tested by our support riders on the road and in the ultimate fields of MotoGP, AMA, and the All Japan Championships, and their opinions are taken into account in the development of their products. Baby face uses CAD/CAM/CAE for design, and the latest machining centers and NC lathes for production to give their products the highest precision possible. Baby Face's Rearset Kits have won the hearts of riders not only in Japan but also in North America, Europe and other parts of the world.

The Baby Face Rearset Kit is a multi-position system that allows you to choose the best step position for different riding conditions. Double bearings are used in the moving parts for extremely smooth operation. The step bars have been machined and knurled all the way to the raised bar ends for worry-free bike control even in the rain.

Frame/Engine Sliders

In the event of a crash, you want to minimize the damage and be able to get back on the track. The frame/engine sliders were created to meet the inevitable demands of endurance racing. And this requirement is not limited to racing, but applies to any stage.

product07.jpg

The purpose of the slider is to soften the impact of a fall by sliding the motorcycle body, thereby minimizing damage. The slider is made of either DURACON(R) (polyacetal copolymer), which has the lowest coefficient of friction of all plastics and excellent abrasion resistance, or polypropylene, which has a certain degree of flexibility and absorbs shock. Nobody wants falls to happen. But if it does happen, frame sliders are essential to minimize the damage. The frame slider is an indispensable part for the future of biking.
