Satisfied with the feel of the tank hold and the improved hold around the boot
Speaking of Yoshimura, exhaust system! However, do you know that they also sell back steps these days?
Because it is a collaboration product of Yoshimura and Baby Face which is famous for the back step, the basic performance seems to be the same as the Baby Face product, but the design of the heel plate, the step bar and the shift pedal seems to be designed exclusively for Yoshimura. It looks similar but it is a different product!
The minor changes seem to have raised the stickiness of the heel grip, and the bite of the step, so I guess you can pick and choose based on looks, price, and brand power!
(In my case, I chose Yoshimura because I didn't want it to be too fancy and I wanted to match the exhaust system to the manufacturer!)
A spiky step bar so spiky you could get hurt (and you did)!
As for the installation, it is simple, but because the manual written carefully in Japanese is attached, it was possible to install it if there was a tool and a little time (in my case, about 5 hours while adjusting various things)!

No more interference!
The most important thing is the riding posture and feeling. In my case, I set it at the highest position and at the back of the motorcycle because of the positional relationship with the pedals. I'm personally satisfied with the new position of the knee, which allows me to hold the tank with my entire thigh, instead of just a point.

Here's a couple of pics after installation! I'm currently putting it on with the tightest 24mm back 40mm up.
I've written about the good points so far, but I'll write about the points that bothered me.
1) The bracket where the brake switch is mounted is made of stainless steel or some other plate, but because it is a thin, sharp plate, it interferes with the wire that goes between the step and the swingarm to the exhaust device.
→I contacted Yoshimura, but they said it was a specification, so I had to shave off the bracket and round it off, or cure the wire.
2) Less adjustment range for pedals?
→This was addressed by raising the step bar. By adjusting the position of the linkage with the quickshifter sensor, it was possible to lower it a little, but it changed the ratio of the shift pedal, allowing upshifting and downshifting with light force and causing the quickshifter to have an operating timing error.
Setting it from a sensitive 2 to a slightly insensitive 1 was just fine.
I've written a lot about it, but despite the high price, I felt it was a better product than I thought it would be before I bought it, given the improved feel of the tank hold, and the hold around the boot, and I wish they'd just adopt it as stock!
It's not too flashy, but it's got the Yoshimura logo on it. How about a small update to improve the feeling?
