Motorcycle and self introduction

[Brief self-introduction]
I've been riding motorcycles for about 25 years, and when I was younger I rode Honda motorcycles. I was imitating a Gymkhana at the time, but now I'm playing with my motorcycle and sometimes touring.

CB400SF → BROS P1 → CBR600F → DORMANT → ZRX1100

[Motorcycle introduction]

The ZRX1100 I own now was the first motorcycle I got about 5 years ago and the first one in about 10 years. It was my first Kawasaki, my first liter motorcycle, and since it was a blank, the vehicle felt heavy and large at first, but once I got used to it, it was straightforward and easy to ride. I'm doing some DIY customization and maintenance on the motorcycle as it was showing its age.

Customization commitment

[Directionality]
I have avoided introducing parts that would compromise the original rideability of the motorcycle. Also, I'm thinking of customizing it to make it a little bit more unique while still maintaining the goodness of the stock.

[Points that I think are cool]
The bottom side is black, which makes the exterior green stand out and looks better. I also like the fact that the silencer is thinner and cleaner.

[Points of change in performance]
Replacing the rear suspension and the bearings when the swingarm was removed for painting improved the feeling of tipping down and ground contact when turning and made cornering more fun.

Custom Points

Rear suspension

Product name: SPORTS LINE rear twin shocks [G series] G362
Brand: YSS

I chose the black body and black springs. I would have liked to have gotten the black Orleans, but the price was tight, so I opted for the reasonable YSS. This suspension is very cost effective and for a low price, I think the performance is satisfactory. The stock rear suspension springs were also black, but I changed the body to black rear suspension for a sharper look.

Slip-on silencer

1602898833562L.jpg
Item name: Slip-on silencer *Not sure of the name of the item as it was purchased used, for ZRX1200R.
Brand: STRIKER

The OEM silencer was a thick aluminum one and it was feeling a bit botched, so I was thinking of replacing it. I was looking for a carbon type, but I fell in love with this one, which is probably a titanium color, and bought it. As a result, I think it looks better than just black.

Exhaust pipe

Product name: OEM exhaust pipe for ZRX1200R
Brand: KAWASAKI

It seems to be after 04, but I couldn't find the parts number. Because the position of the bolt holes are different between ZRX1100 and 1200R, I looked for a used one and replaced it. The black pipe for ZRX1100 was good, but when I put it on, the stainless pipe was not bad either.

Fender Eliminator Kit

Product name: Fender Eliminator Kit
Brand: COERCE

I thought about cutting out the factory fenders, but I didn't like the location of the numbers, etc., so I bought this one. I think it looks nicer now. The reflectors were removed from the OEM fenders and attached with homemade brackets.

Rim stripe

Product name: Rim Stripe 10M
Brand: MFD

I painted the lime green wheels in matte black. The OEM wheels are also available in matte black, but the matte wheels have a different feel to them and I think they have a little more personality. Also, I think the inclusion of the rim stripe is a good one point that makes it look better.

Handlebar

Product name: EZ-FIT BAR EBF715K (for ZRX1200R)
Brand: EFFEX

It used to be a hardy chromium handlebar, but I wanted the handlebar to be black as well, so I chose this one. The same EZ-FIT BAR for the 1200 were a little lower than the 1100, but now they are closer to the handlebars of the birdie, which makes it easier to ride than before. I'm happy with the look and feel of the bars.

Handlebar end

Product name: Ultra Heavy Bar End 031579-03
Brand: POSH FAITH

I bought this product to counter the vibration of the steering wheel and I recommend it for its effectiveness. It had silver on it, but I painted it candy black here and it looks good.

Headlight

1603029938520L.jpg
Product name: Multi-Reflector Series Square Type 71-0083
Brand: BRIGHTEC

The retro OEM headlights weren't bad, but I replaced them with multi-reflectors to modernize the look.

Headlight bulb

Product name: Headlight LED Bulb Set
Brand: K-FACTORY

I went with LED bulbs that consume less electricity to reduce the load on the battery. The idling seems to have calmed down since their installation. Installation was easy and the lights are brighter.

Blinker

Product name: Light Weight LED Indicator Cards 096451-06
Brand: POSH FAITH

Tail lamp

Product name: LED Tail Light Unit 071090-90
Brand: POSH FAITH

Like the bed light, all the lights have been converted to LED to reduce the burden on the battery. I was able to make the big OEM blinkers moderately compact. I think the shape of the blinkerss match the body of the motorcycle. The rear is a no-brand thin one. It's a good product with good light emission and low price. The tail lights are the same shape as the stock ones. It's easy to install as it is. It looks brighter than stock.

Painting

Product name: PG80
Brand: KANSAI PAINT

The swingarm, pillion footpegs, heel plate, and engine guard were painted in matte black, and the front and rear wheels, top bridge, handlebar brackets, brake lever and clutch lever were painted in matte black. I also repainted the engine as well as the sprocket cover and cleaned it up. As a result, the undercarriage is tighter and looks better. I think the paint job was done beautifully.

Other than that, I painted the cylinder bed cover, the buff shiny part of the radiator guard and the handlebar end in candy black because I wanted to make it stand out from the rest of the black parts. It's a nice color and looks just as I imagined.

Customization that I want to do in the future

[Customization I want to do in the future.]
I'm hoping to try an exterior all-pen in the next year or so. I'm currently pondering how to do this. Also, this one is a bit of a hurdle, but I'd like to clean up the frame as well.
