Installed on CB1000R (SC80) 2021 model

Rating: ★★★★★

[Usage]
I've been riding a motorcycle with a cowl for a long time, so when I switched to a CB1000R (SC80), I felt stressed by the wind, especially at high speed. There are some windscreens for CB1000R up to 2020 model year, but there is no windscreen for 2021 model year yet, and I was told that there is no plan to develop one. So I installed this universal MRA windscreen. It seems to be useful since I often use the highway for touring. I think the windscreen looks good on the CB1000R without ruining its style for a large screen.

The bracket did not fit into the clamp on one of the brackets and had to be widened before installation.

[Installed]
I had a hard time balancing the left and right sides during installation. The clamps on the top bridge handlebar holder and the co-tightened brackets rotate together every time I tighten them, so I have to hold the brackets on both sides while tightening. Also, the molding that attaches to the edge is very hard to fit. It might be better to do this before installing the screen to the motorcycle.

[My review after using it]
The windproof performance is quite good.
The wind resistance up to the chest area has been reduced.
There is no shaking or vibration at high speed.
The ETC antenna works fine.
The steering wheel is a bit of an obstruction, but you get used to it.
The styling is fine.

[Included Parts]
Everything came with it.

[Disappointments]
The color of the screen's mounting components is matte black, so it looks a little strange.

[Other]
The instruction manual is in English.
For installation, temporarily assemble the windscreen and bracket (do not tighten), and then tighten the handlebar holder and clamp together.
The vertical direction can be adjusted until the screen mount is fully tightened, so tighten the clamps on the handlebar holder and bracket so that they are symmetrical.
Be careful not to retighten it too tightly, or the handle may turn.
The molding is very difficult to install, but you should be able to sandwich the edge of the screen by spreading the tip and lifting it up about 90 degrees as you go.
It would be nice if the moldings were more rigid for easier installation.

Mounted at an angle that does not destroy the trapezoidal form

The tip of the molding starts at this position.

MRA is a very famous brand that everyone who is planning to buy a windscreen knows. A wide variety of shapes are available for each model, mainly for full cowl motorcycles, so you can get the shape you want. However, since the number of users for universal windscreens is drastically reduced, I really don't know what it will look like when it is installed.

Even if you have a picture of the product, how big will it be in relation to the motorcycle? Is the balance good? I don't know anything about it. It's a universal product, but it's not cheap, so it's hard to get it casually.

This a great review with plenty of installation images and a detailed commentary that follows the template, making it easy to imagine what it will look like when installed on your motorcycle! You can see at a glance the overall image from the front, back, left and right, the points that look the coolest, and the edges of the moldings you are interested in. The long text is readable and informative, and the feedback on the effect of the installation is perfect.

Even though this is a review of a universal windscreen, the coolness of the windscreen when installed might make some people want to buy a CB1000R.
