Recommended for adventure bikes! Impressions of the Anakee Adventure, which is good for both on and off the road!

ACT.jpg Parts & Gear Reviews

Many vehicle manufacturers have lined up, and even Harley has introduced a new model? It is said that Harley might introduce a new model, and it is a hot adventure bike now.
But it's hard to choose a tire for an adventure bike.
Many riders prefer a tire that looks like it can be ridden off-road and has a blocky feel, but is actually ridden on-road.
In this issue, we'll be taking a test drive of Michelin's Anakee Adventure tire, which is a great choice for adventure bike users!

BMW's R1250GS, Honda CRF1000L, Suzuki V-STROM, Yamaha Ténéré, Triumph, KTM and even Kawasaki.
It's a vibrant category, with most manufacturers now offering adventure models.
The number of owners of Big Adventure models is increasing among Webic staff.
With the expansion of this category, each tire manufacturer is increasing its lineup.
Michelin has a great lineup for adventure, and the Anarchy series is
Many owners may already be using this product.

The tire is designed to meet the tire requirements of adventure models, which have a lot of power and weight, and are often used by both energetic and distance riders.

I sensed from the Michelin staff a great deal of enthusiasm for this category.
In the future, I'll be using the Anakee Wild for off-roading, the Road 5 Trail for smart driving on pavement, and the
You can choose the best tire depending on the field you're riding in with the Anakee Adventure option, which looks off but has a strong emphasis on pavement performance.
Other manufacturers are now offering more adventure tires. Choosing tires is so exciting!

Test Drive Report

This test drive was designed to test lane change characteristics on a high-speed circuit, grip and handling on a short circuit, and braking on a wet road.
Three types of tests were conducted. The vehicles are R1250GS, G310 and V-Strom 650. Here is the comparison with Anakie 3.

Wet performance test

1de1cdb82251b2d3b0a5190ef6d7fb67.jpg
In touring, you may encounter rain. The Anarchy 3 in comparison also has a silica compound and larger drainage grooves.
Wet performance is taken into consideration, but the Anakee Adventure has even better wet grip.
70km on a sprayed road surface/We conducted a full-braking experiment at about 2.5 h. The timing of the ABS intervention is much more gripping (deeper).
I didn't measure the braking distance exactly, but at 70km/h, the car stopped about a bike length (roughly 2m) in front of me!
The increased margin for avoiding danger in an emergency is a great relief when touring.
I haven't had a chance to test them for wet cornering, but with the combination of silica + 2CT + groove ratio, you can expect high performance.

High Speed Circumference Test

Lane changes at high speeds never felt as stiff as with block tires.
The steering angle is directly attached and the direction is changed. You can add reverse steering and change the lane a little forcibly to avoid danger.
I tried it, but it changes direction with solid feeling. It is more agile than Anarchy 3.
Another big area of difference here is road noise.
ffad8e52c2ae60364f61db17a605ef00.jpg
While the Anakee 3 produced a high level of road noise at speeds above 80 km/h due to its unique pattern, the Anakee Adventure
I did not feel any road noise. In fact, it must be occurring, but at a level that is drowned out by the helmet.
I was impressed by the conflicting changes and evolution of the pattern, which became blockier but quieter and more stable.

handling test

ko-na-.jpg
We drove around a course that looked like a mini circuit.
Again, contrary to the preconceptions of the tread pattern, there is no feeling of sagging and the direction changes with positive load.
I ran the same course with Road 5 and Power RS cars and didn't get left behind.
It doesn't feel scary even on banks where the steps are grounded. Again, it's more aggressive than the Anakee 3.
It doesn't feel dull, it's more in the quick category.

Recommended for these riders!

The semi-block design matches the adventure model, but it actually has high on-road performance.
I would recommend it to riders who mainly use paved roads, from city riding to winding roads and highways.
2CT to balance both grip and life for touring, stiffness and lightness.
It makes the bike feel smaller and lighter than it is. Why don't you consider it with such expectations?

The best wet performance that lasts! ROAD 5

#gallery-2 {margin: auto;}#gallery-2 .gallery-item {float: left;margin-top: 10px;text-align: center;width: 33%;}#gallery-2 img {border: 2px solid #cfcfcf;}#gallery-2 .gallery-caption {margin-left: 0;}/* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */

In comparison with the previous Pilot Road 4, which is a masterpiece, the effect of the improvement in wet performance was clearly seen here as well.
In a comparison with the MT-07Full braking in wet conditionsSo, on Road 5, the rear tire is about to lift.
The ABS intervention also comes into play when you grip harder.

Wet performance persists even after 5000km!

ROAD5.jpg
Unlike conventional grooves, the Road 5's sipes are constructed like a flask, with the width of the grooves increasing as you move inwards.
This means that as the tyre wears, the groove area expands at the same time, so drainage is not reduced and the wet grip lasts longer.
560B0BE3-580F-4220-9212-9C1F8C8A65BC-1-600x700.jpg
Thanks to this, after 5,000km of use, the Road 5 is said to have the same or better wet performance as a new Road 4.
We have never experienced a tyre manufacturer's description of wet performance after wear as a feature of their product.
This is where I got the gut feeling. When you start using a tire, it naturally wears out, so the process of wear and the maintenance of performance
The point of view, as expected of Michelin.

In handling tests, the Road 5 makes you forget that it's a long-life touring tire.
The high balance of the Pilot Road 4 also had a reputation as a tire with a high degree of perfection, but the Road 5 has evolved well not only in wet performance but also in grip performance on dry roads.

The construction of the Road 5 is soft in the center of the tread, and the casing near the sidewall is constructed like two layers to achieve high rigidity and straight-line stability.

ACT.jpg

In fact, it is folded diagonally, and the structure is similar to bias.

Thanks to this, I can go one step deeper into the lean angle than with the Road 4 without any worries.
The turning grip and handling is like a sport tire. The reduced misalignment near full bank also symbolizes this character.
We don't have enough information yet to know if the life performance of the traditional road series reputation is maintained, but the evolution of the last three years is
Users of the traditional Pilot Road 3 and 4 will be able to experience this.

All-around high-grip power RS that's ready to take on the road and sudden rain.

POWERRS.jpg
The very popular POWER RS high grip tire is a comparison impression with the Road 5.
The GSX-S1000 was used in low to second gear on this course.
Because there were a lot of relatively low-speed corners, I did not feel much difference from Road 5.
In fact, the handling itself seems to be more smooth and light on the Road 5.
72253305-FE91-4989-870C-55336C85AB6D.jpg
The real power of the Power RS is its absolute grip at high speed cornering and when the load is high.
The side compound provides a firm grip that grips the road and doesn't let go.
The center is made of a hard compound thanks to the 2CT+ construction, which makes it rigid and resistant to reduction even when traveling long distances on the highway.
It is recommended for users who want to enjoy winding road in touring destination!

When it comes to high grip, it is characterized in a sense by a lack of grip until the tires are heated up at the start of the run, but
This Power RS has silica in the compound, so there is no lack of grip that makes you feel unsafe even at low temperatures.
However, it is recommended not to be too aggressive at the start of the ride, as it will warm up the rider.

And the pattern's so innovative and cool! Is this pattern Michelin's favorite?
Road 5 also has a design that looks like this pattern with more mizos.
#gallery-3 {margin: auto;}#gallery-3 .gallery-item {float: left;margin-top: 10px;text-align: center;width: 33%;}#gallery-3 img {border: 2px solid #cfcfcf;}#gallery-3 .gallery-caption {margin-left: 0;}/* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */

The Power RS is unique in that it has a deep groove to improve drainage.
However, it has a reinforced structure like a step in order to eliminate the back shattering when cornering at high speed.
Great rain protection even with the high grip! That's what I call Michelin!
20170111_powerrs02.jpg
The Power RS is high grip but also rainproof.
I highly recommend them for street use high grip!

Michelin for tyres?

What did you think?
All Michelin tires are great, they're unique and technologically advanced in every genre!
As a tire to be used on the street, because it can correspond firmly in any genre to "rain" that cannot be ignored when it comes to use it on the street.
I highly recommend those Michelin tires!
