This week's pickup impressions

Long hours of light! It's easy to get fuel! It's huge!

My raggedy ace looks good.

I bought it about 7 years ago because I love the outdoors and spend a lot of time in places without lights.

I know it's big and a little difficult to load for camp touring, but I want a sturdy light! I'm good at overloading. If you are a person who is or those who do a lot of outdoor activities with their cars. It is very convenient that you can use the same gas can as the cassette stove, and at worst you can use a 100-yen gas can, and I always use it.

The model I own is older and seems to have some differences from the current model, but from the product photos, the only difference would be some colors.

The SOTO logo makes a crisp impression.

When you use it, you have to pull the main body to get the light-emitting part, but it's not too hard and not too loose, it's just the right stroke. It is not too hard, not too loose, not too loose, but just the right amount of stroke. You don't need to use much force to set the gas can, but the can is fixed tightly so it has never come off.

Ignition is as easy as a lighter. It's as easy to ignite as a lighter. By the way, it was easy to ignite at the Mugikusa Pass at over 2,000 meters above sea level and the temperature was 13 degrees. When it ignites, you can hear the sound of booming sound but it doesn't disturb the conversation.

No photo manipulation.

As far as light levels go, it's "solidly bright! Yes, sir! I am confident in this one. It's good enough for one person to use; I think about four people could sit around the lantern and do everything from preparing a meal to cleaning up; it would be glaring if you put it in the middle of a table for four people. So in actual use, you will want a pole or other "something" to hang the lantern from. I haven't been conscious of the duration of use, but I've never had a problem with it going out during use, so I think it's been glowing for long enough.

The combination of the Half Screen Colored Hoya (sold separately) and the Mosquito Triflector, which is said to be difficult to attract insects, did not attract a single insect when used in a certain mountain pass on August 12, 2020. (No insect repellent was used.)

Reflectors are essential in terms of increasing the amount of light in a particular direction and being considerate of your surroundings. We are grateful to the manufacturer for providing them.

For the last two years or so, I've been storing it in a homemade bag and leaving it in the car, and on weekends, driving it on rickety roads to off-road courses. Still, no glass fuzz or other damage of any kind. I only get to see it about three times a year, and the only replacement part in seven years has been "one mantle".

On a side note, no matter how much gas fire you use, you can't burn meat on the headcover (proven). The attention from my friends when I extend the unit with the gas fire is high. Even when it ignites, its dazzle draws a lot of attention again (lol). (By JieJie)

There is a little bit of light leaking from the reflector to the back, but it's only difficult to capture with a smartphone.

LED lanterns are becoming more and more popular these days, but fuel-consuming lanterns have a lot of flavor to them. The warm-colored lights are very calming when you turn them on and the "boh" sound is very calming. I've been looking for a gasoline lantern, but I've been tempted to go for a folding lantern these days. Thanks for the nice imprecation! (Webike Staff: from Kenzie)
