Compiled list of the recommended model for your first motorcycle

Webike's "Find Motorcycle by Bike Life" is a website where you can find a recommended motorcycles for different situations based on information from Webike users.

In this article, I'll introduce you to some of the motorcycles I recommend for your "first motorcycle", along with the voices of actual users.

What do you recommend for a first motorcycle?

You've got your motorcycle license, but what motorcycle should you ride first? Here are some of the motorcycles that our senior riders have actually ridden and recommend as their "first one"! If you're not used to riding a motorcycle, you'll have to worry about handling it, so many people choose motorcycles that are relatively light and have good footing. You can also choose one of these motorcycles based on the design that you like.

Testimonials from owners who recommend riding their first motorcycle.

Some of the motorcycles and what their owners say they'd recommend for a "first motorcycle" that they actually ride! I've picked them up by displacement so you can use them as a reference when looking for a motorcycle! I picked up the medium-sized motorcycle under 400cc.

Motorcycles under 125cc recommended for your first motorcycle

Ape 100

Purpose of purchase, use, comparative models I was looking for a motorcycle that I could tweak to my own personal needs. I use it mainly for commuting and occasionally for short tours.
Strengths/Satisfactory Light to handle. Good fuel economy, traveling about 40km/L. There are many parts available, so you can tweak it as you like. The pink license plate is inexpensive to maintain.
Weaknesses and complaints When I go touring, my butt hurts. I get agitated on the bypass because of the small body. The brake does not work. We recommend a disc brake model.
Advice to prospective buyers. I think it's a good motorcycle to learn the basics of motorcycling. It can be used for multiple purposes from commuting to work, riding around town to touring, and you can also enjoy tweaking and tuning it.

GSX-R125

Purpose of purchase, use, comparative models Because I wanted a mission motorcycle after a long time by changing from the moped 2 class which I had ridden before.
Strengths/Satisfactory  Light weight, easy to handle, low maintenance cost, good fuel economy, rare full-size moped (SS), good looking, all these conditions and the price is low.
Weaknesses and complaints The quality of the bolts is poor because of the low price. It rusts easily. This is a SS motorcycle in general, but zero loading. There are few selective techniques in tires.
Advice to prospective buyers. I think it is the best vehicle as an introduction to SS motorcycles. You can enjoy the fun of handling the vehicle's original ability to the maximum, the fun of cornering, and the customization cost is cheaper than the liter motorcycle because there are many custom parts.

Middle size motorcycle (~400cc) recommended for first time motorcycle

Tricker

beginner2.jpg

Purpose of purchase, purpose of use, comparative models I was interested in an off-road vehicle but was not a candidate in terms of ease of use. I compared the Tricker with the Serow, but since it was my first motorcycle, I decided to go with the Tricker because it seemed easier to handle. The style of the motorcycle is also good as it has both off-road and on-road features.
Strengths/Satisfactory Although it is inevitably compared with Honda CB400 which is a training motorcycle, it is definitely lighter and easier to handle and enjoy easily. It's the same engine as the Serrault so it has a very good power to weight ratio.
Weaknesses and complaints There is almost no storage. That's why it's so light.
You'll have to do a lot of work on the retrofit.
Is the small tank capacity inconvenient for some uses?
Advice to prospective buyers. I've only just started riding it, but it's a fun, nimble motorcycle. It is easy to handle and the mechanism is simple, so it can be recommended for the first-time riker.

CB400 Super Four

beginner3.jpg

Purpose of purchase, purpose of use, comparative models Watching YouTube made me want to ride a motorcycle for the first time in 40 years. Purchased for street riding and touring.
Strengths/Satisfactory After all, it is a famous machine Honda CB400SF.
It is safe to ride. It's often called a training motorcycle, but it's not. I like the form.
Weaknesses and complaints The fuel consumption is not so good, about 18km without VTEC. The engine speed is less than 4,000rpm at 60km. It will be changed if I change the drive and drive train.
Advice to prospective buyers. After 45,000km, there is no oil leakage at all. As expected of a Honda engine. I often hear from motorcycle shops that Honda engines don't get damaged even after 100,000 km (really?)
