The new Thruxton 1200R was introduced when the Bonneville series was reborn as water-cooled. Although the name "Thruxton" existed in the previous air-cooled Bonneville series, the new Thruxton has a single round-eyed headlight, clip-on handlebars, spoked wheels, and twin shocks, and the same old café racer style.
To accentuate the café racer style, a single seat is STD and a pillion seat is an optional extra. The pillion footpeg is also not included as the STD feature. Riders will want to look like an American gentleman to match the Thruxton's design!
Aside from its café racer style, the Thruxton 1200R is also equipped with a number of luxurious features. The brakes are BREMBO block radial-mount calipers and the suspension is SHOWA upside-down forks and OHLINS twin shocks. The motorcycle is also equipped with a full range of electronic controls, including three riding modes and traction control, so despite the classic styling, the motorcycle is armed with state-of-the-art equipment.
