Yamaha Serow 250 Owner Review

Introducing the passionate story of Tagosaku who rides the Serow 250, from Webike Community "My Beloved Moto" campaign.

He shares his reviews of the Serow 250, including the advantage and the disadvantage, which he understands well because he is the owner.

Brief self-introduction

Motorcycle history → about 30 years

How I usually enjoy my motorcycle
A walk around the neighborhood, a long-distance tour once a year, maybe more putting on aftermarket parts and polishing than riding.

How long I've been riding this motorcycle→ about 5 years

Satisfaction

For purposes of use, for driving, for appearance
I switched from Hayabusa to Serow. The first non-moped motorcycle I owned (although it was a borrowed one) about 30 years ago was probably an early model Serow. At that time, it was the heyday or the end of the racer replica era, so I didn't know how good it was, so I returned it right away and bought a GSX250S. Since then, I have ridden several motorcycles and finally came back to the Serow.

Anyway, it's a good motorcycle that's light and really low maintenance when you consider taxes and gas mileage. When I bought it, it was a green Serow, but by chance, I got a YSP limited-edition exterior, so now it's just a blue Serow. Although there was not enough room around the knee a little, when I changed to the ash seat of Wise gear, the pain of the buttocks was gone and it was two birds with one stone.  Again, fuel efficiency is excellent. My previous Hayabusa was 20km/L, which I think was excellent, but the Serow gets 35~40km/L.

There are a lot of optional parts out there. It's fun to install this and that according to your own use, and if you don't have money like me, you can enjoy various things such as fantasies. The price of the optional parts for the Hayabusa and Katana are also quite expensive, but for the Serow, they are relatively inexpensive, and since there are not many electrified parts such as ABS, it is relatively easy to do the maintenance yourself.

Dissatisfaction

For purposes of use, for driving, for appearance
There is nothing to complain about. Some people say that the lights are too dim, but they are sufficient. I have added the optional LED fog lights. The rest is still not there.

Summary

I bought this motorcycle because I thought it would be my last motorcycle. In fact, I'm planning to buy another motorcycle or even a replacement motorcycle in a decade or so, but this motorcycle is really a great motorcycle. It has a lot of optional parts, so you can adapt it to your own size and use. With the release of the Final Edition, it looks like it will be discontinued soon, but if you're interested in a new motorcycle, get one before they become unavailable. There is also the option of buying a used motorcycle, but the market price for a used motorcycle is not that much lower than the price of a new one.
