YZF-R6 Owner's Review

We will introduce Akaza's passionate story about his riding experience with his beloved motorcycle, YZF-R6, from Webike community "My Beloved Moto" campaign.

He shared with us the advantages and disadvantages review of the YZF-R6, which he knows well because he's the owner.

[Simple Introduction]

Motorcycle History/Standard Motorcycle Enjoyment.
I am just a young guy who has a motorcycle license for less than 5 years with a motorcycle history from a medium-sized model. I enjoyed it by rides, pay with it, fix it, andbreak it. I feel like I can do anything I want. Winding, visiting motorcycle shops, touring, circuit riding. And then doing my regular maintenance.

[YZF-R6 (13S)] Riding Period
I have been riding this model for three years from the time I purchased my new motorcycle. As of today (April 26), the mileage is 49,815km.

Motivation and Purpose of Buying it
It all started when I saw YZF-R25, which I used to ride at the store where I bought it and thought it looks really cool. After I finished my first driving lesson, I went to the shop again and chose Hayabusa which was also in line. But after they allowed me to step on it, I lowered the handlebar and backed up. The funny thing about it is the forward-leaning posture of the head which is even more interesting than R25. I was using the footpeg and it made me smile. I decide to buy it right away because it really looks so cool and I felt it was interesting to step on it. The usage is as mentioned above. It runs about 300km/day of touring or 2000km in a week and circuit riding. Recently, I have been doing pillion touring. Maintenance includes daily maintenance and replacement of consumables parts such as 3-point replacement of the drive train due to excessive riding.

[Satisfactory Points/Advantages]

As for Applications
If you are into touring, you can focus on less than 8,000 rpm, and the track can be shortened to a shorter period below that. I feel like I can handle either one. For maintenance, it is difficult to replace the consumable parts because the parts are packed. Is this part is a disadvantage point? This is a drawback of this machine. But I feel a great sense of accomplishment when it's done.

For riding
As I mentioned above, the borderline rpm is around 8,000. You can run at ease without being pulled backwards as long as it is going down. It is necesary to drop doen a gear to accelerate all at once but the unrivaled acceleration is impressive which you cannot be follwed by a car in any gear. Its maturity will gone when the speed exceeds to 8000 rmp. The sound of the engine, exhaust system and acceleration changes, and the feeling of sportiness and exuberance are possible to achieve immediately.

For Appearance
Cool! It completes in one word. I personally dont like colored black and gray cowl, and I don't like matte painted colors. So, I like deep purple, Irish blue, metallic cowls. Its beautiful especially when it reflects the sunlight. And, I also like the tail lights design which are not common to other motorcycle and the feeling that the waste part are cut off diagonally.

[Unsatisfactory/Disadvantages]

My thinking is that riding motorcycle will allow us for its drawbacks and therefore I consider the disadvantages as well.

For Applications
If you like the way you look at it, do something about it, and there is only one flaw that cannot be improved. There is no loading capacity when in pillion. Originally, you were forced to make an exclusive choice between ETC or on-board tools even under the seat. The YZF-R6 has the same loading problem as the other models, which is common in sports cars. As for the retrofit, it' is rarely made by Japan aftermarket parts manufacturer for a long-running that are not made in Japan. is this also a drawback? If it's not a pillion, the loading capacity can be taken care of. You can make a load capacity. The product on the picture is a 40L by IRIS Oyama RVBOX 600. TANAX Motofizz Multi-Fit Side Bag M MFK- 28L in 186. It is the one that I used when I went to week-long camping with a total of the loading capacity of 68L.

For Travel
Nothing. I'd like to say that but there's no way I can push out a motorcycle with a higher engine displacement in a straight line. The only choice I had was to go hard in a corner. It is more fun to work hard in the corner because you can lean and control the motorcycle.

For Appearance
No. The only thing that's kept me close to the DAYTONA 675R is that it's been around since YZF-R25. Without any defects in the original look.

▲You can carry 68L even on a Sportsbike with a weak point in loading capacity depending on the device!

[Summary (Recommended Riders)

If I were to recommend it, it could be the apprearance, the run, or the name. This is recommended for those who found something inetresting which they like about it. The original purpose of YZF-R6 is for circuit use and is not suitable for touring. But since you like the appearance, you often ride around on a day trip touring, or you may want to ask, "what is a Supersports?" and even in touring. If you have the desire to ride, you can really do it. This is the motorcycle who taught me about that.
