SUZUKI V-STROM 250
Owner’s Nick Name: Neko Baka

Among the MY bikes comment posted on the Webike community, I will introduce the motorcycle "V-STROM 250" that the owner's nickname "Neko Baka" has been riding now.

The "V-STROM 250" is an entry model in the "V-STROM series" that allows you to comfortably enjoy from city riding to long touring using highways, and forest roads. The V-STROM 250 takes over the grand sense of adventure that the series has, it has become a model that anyone can enjoy casually in a more compact body.

Neko Baka, said he wanted a motorcycle that doesn't get tired to own and by connecting multiple SUZUKI motorcycles, he chose the V-STROM 250 as a motorcycle that can be relieved just by being there.

As for the driving performance, he said, "the power is low and the top speed is modest even though the lack of power is undeniable, it is surprisingly energetic to ride on the mountain pass and it is fun". "This is due to the characteristic of the engine that sticks well and has little fear of engine stall even at extremely low speeds," as Neko Baka wrote.

The V-STROM 250 can be said to be a wallet-friendly motorcycle because the cost of replacing oil and tires can be kept relatively low, the fuel consumption is over 30km / L, and there is no Japanese vehicle inspection.

The V-STROM 250 is highly regarded as an adventure tourer that suits the height of Japanese riders, even for its compact yet travel-oriented style. Many other comments have been written, so if you are considering to purchase a V-STROM 250, please refer to it!

From MY Bike Comment
■ Motivation for Purchase / Purpose
"I wanted a motorcycle that doesn't make me tired."
"I don't have a good riding performance, and I don't have a sense of ownership. However, I chose V-STROM 250 as a bike that I can feel safe just by being there."
■ Advantages
・Fuel consumption over 30km / L
The fuel consumption of the 400km touring during the break-in was 33.4km / L.
The cruising range is 17L × 30km / L = 510km by a simple calculation.
・Engine characteristics
There is no sign of installing with the engine which sticks well from a low rotation.
It can be slowed down at six-speed, and it can run surprisingly normal even if it turns to a low rotation.
・style
The style with the feeling of travel is good though it is compact. The loading of the side back and the bigger bag seems to become a picture.
An adventure tourer that suited the body height of Japanese riders.
・Riding performance
It is surprisingly fun to ride on the mountain pass.
Since it sticks at low rotation, it is acceptable to some extent to miss the gear selection.
■ Disadvantages
・Position
I'm a small figure with a height of 167 cm, but the handle position feels a little cramped.
Since my posture is up, it easily tends to hurt my butt.
It is expected to be a slightly wider and more forward-leaning position while adjusting with an external handlebar.
・Reduction ratio
The maximum torque generating speed is 6500rpm and the speed is about 80km/h, so 100km/h riding will be hard.
I am wondering if the maximum torque generating speed should be set to a slightly higher speed.
・Texture and Quality
The V-STROM 250 is a low-priced motorcycle, so it's not a motorcycle that feels like it's owning it.
The trouble occurred when a new motorcycle arrived, so it may be better to compromise on quality.
・Riding performance
I feel a lack of power on high-speed roads.
■ Advice
I think that the V-STROM 250 is the one that can be recommended to use for almighty among 250cc. It's less power and the top speed is modest, but it's not a boring motorcycle on winding road. It's rather fun to ride on the V-STROM 250 on winding road. It has good fuel consumption, no Japanese vehicle inspection, and low oil and tire replacement costs. It is also a picture as a motorcycle that can be loaded with luggage on a touring and can be as a travel motorcycle. I think it's just a reassuring motorcycle out there.
