PETRONAS Yamaha Sepang Racing Team's Fabien Morbidelli achieved his first MotoGP victory in front of his home fans at the San Marino GP, the seventh round of the MotoGP season, held on Sunday, September 13, 2020.
Morbidelli takes his first MotoGP win!
Morbidelli got off to a great start and led the race from the start. Despite Rossi's attacks in the early stages of the race, Morbidelli was able to hold off the Spaniard and gradually extended his advantage, riding a solid 27 laps to take the win. The local hero was the first to take the chequered flag in front of his home crowd for the first time this season. The win moves him up to seventh in the championship standings.
