PETRONAS Yamaha Sepang Racing Team's Fabio Morbidelli rode a flawless race to take his second career MotoGP victory at the MotoGP Round 12 in Teruel on Sunday, October 25.
He took the lead from the first lap and went on to win!
Morbidelli made a great start and took the lead on the opening lap. Morbidelli maintained a consistently high pace, setting the fastest lap of the race several times in the early stages and controlling the race well to pull away from the rest of the field.
At the end of the race, he showed his strength to increase the gap to Alex Rins (Suzuki), who was following in second place, and eventually finished second. He won for the second time this season by 205 seconds. The result moves him up to fourth in the championship and closes the gap to the leader to 25 points.
The next European Grand Prix will be held in two weeks' time, from November 6-8, at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Spain.

I am very happy with this win and it feels a bit different than in Misano. This victory was made possible by the hard work of the team crew and everyone worked together for this and did a great job. The motorcycle was perfect for the whole race. I felt good and all I had to do was concentrate on getting the motorcycle to the finish line. This victory belongs to them and to my team crew. Without their support it would not have been possible, so I just want to thank them. The gap to the top of the championship is now only 25 points. For the remaining three rounds, we will challenge with "Super Aggressive".
