MotoGP: Honda’s Takaaki Nakagami Finishes 4th, His Best Result of the Season

Worldwide

LCR Honda IDEMITSU's Takaaki Nakagami qualified third on the front row for the third time this season and finished the race in a tie for fourth place, his best result of the season, at the MotoGP Round 13 held on Sunday, November 8 in Valencia.

Due to the rain that continued to fall until the day before, the Free Practice and Qualifying sessions were wet and half-wet, making for difficult track conditions, but on race day, blue skies opened up and the race started in perfectly dry conditions.

Nakagami, who made the final adjustments in the morning warm-up and marked the 4th fastest time, made a good start in the race and was 4th on the opening lap, but was passed by Miguel Oliveira (KTM) on the 2nd lap and dropped back to 5th, but passed Oliveira on the 15th lap in the middle of the race and rose to 4th again.

After that, he chased the top group hard. By the end of the race, he was riding very close behind Pol Espargaro (KTM), who was in third place. In the last two laps of the race, on lap 26, he ran in the 1'31" range and was expected to finish on the podium for the first time, but unfortunately, he finished in 4th place.

Comments Takaaki Nakagami (MotoGP 4th)

It was a great result and a great race. I kept a good pace all the way to the end and gave it my all until the last corner on the last lap. Today's race was really positive. I was really close to getting my first podium. I didn't finish on the podium, but I was the first independent rider to finish. I'm already looking forward to next week in Valencia. I believe we can keep the momentum going next week and get a great result at the next race in Valencia. This week I was able to ride well in all conditions. I want to thank my team for their great work.
