JSB 1000 class final round, Leon Haslam qualifying second place got off to a great start, but Nakasuga take the hole shot. Then Leon, Takuya Tsuda, Kota Nozane, and Kazuki Watanabe went after.

It was a ultra sprint race with 8 laps. Leon chased after Nakasuga fiercely not to let him go and took the lead at Degner curve on the second lap. That made those five riders form a leading group of Leon, Nakasuga, Tsuda, Watanabe, and Nozane.

Such a incredible fierce battle of JSB1000 class was unfolded before my eyes. When it was around a turn around point, Leon, Nakasuga, and Watanabe all put themselves in contention at last.

Especially Nakasuga and Leon raced nose to tail fiercely. Right before the final lap, Nakasuga overtook Leon, who was in the lead, from inside and Nakasuga raced to the front and rushed into the final lap.

Nakasuga went around with and outdistanced the other riders, and the checkered flag was waved for the unprecedented record he achieved.

#2 Leon, #3 Watanabe, then Tsuda and Nozane. Takahashi, who started out late caught up and ended in #6.

MFJ-GP Suzuka Final Round JSB1000 Final Race 2

Katsuyuki Nakasuga Achieved a Big Victory with Overwhelming Power as All Japan Championship!

JSB 1000 Final race 2 was interrupted because of red flag by an accident on the main straight on the opening lap and started over again.

The one who grabbed the hole shot right after the re-start was Leon Haslam, who got injured but joined the race with a spare machine.

Takuya Tsuda and Takuya Fujita jumped up and went after that. However, Nakasuga caught up with them. Then, Leon took the lead and Nakasuga, Fujita, Tsuda, Nozane, and Takahashi chased after Leon by the time the first lap was finished.

As well as the race 1, Leon was leading the race while having Nakasuga behind him. But the race 2 has 20 laps, which is two and a half times longer than the race 1. They anticipated the delay after the middle of the race, so they needed to have a plan B which was totally different from their original game plan.

Nakasuga, who had full knowledge of courses on Suzuka and how to deal with the delay on laps, stayed right behind Leon to keep giving him constant pressure.

Then on the 15th lap, Nakasuga overtook Leon at MC chicane and increased his pace to achieve the record of the fastest lap of 2'06.662 on the 18th lap and recorded several fastest lap with under 7 seconds even at the end of the race. Eventually he beat the runner-up by 3.5 seconds, and clinched double victory of race 1 and race 2 to show off the status of the new champion.
