Team Bolliger Switzerland claimed more EWC points in the 8 Hours of Motos to continue its strong start to the 2025 season, its 44th in a row in the FIM Endurance World Championship.

But it took a determined recovery performance from riders Pedro Romero, Nico Thöni and Alex Toledo to finish eighth among the Formula EWC teams in ninth overall.

With Toledo slow away from his 15th position on the starting grid, Team Bolliger Switzerland had to battle back from 21st position to secure its second top 10 finish of the 2025 campaign and bank 13 points. It means the Kawasaki-powered outfit holds eighth place in the FIM Endurance World Championship for Teams after two rounds.

Team Manager Kevin Bolliger explained: “After it had been raining all morning, we rode out to the starting grid at 11h30 on rain tyres. While we were on the grid, the sun came out and slowly dried the track again. So, around 25 minutes before the start of the race, we decided to put on the slick tyres and start the race that way.

“From 15th on the grid Alex started for us. Unfortunately, the start was not ideal and Alex did not get away well, so we dropped back to 21st position immediately after the start. However, as Alex was fast afterwards, we gradually moved forward again, so that we were in 18th position at the first pit stop.

“As the weather was very changeable, as it had been all week, and it started to rain just before the first pit stop, only for the sun to come out again a few minutes later, we didn't know exactly which tyres to put on. In the end, we opted for slicks, which was the right decision.

“It continued to rain briefly and then the sun came out again, but the track was rideable with slicks the whole time and our riders set very good lap times.

“After around 3.5 hours, the heavy rain came, which forced us and the other teams to pit and we had to put on rain tyres. At this point, we were already in 12th position.

“Despite the heavy rain, we were constantly moving quickly and the race went smoothly for us, apart from the weather conditions. We were in the top 10 by the halfway point of the race and were able to maintain this position.

“When another team ahead of us had to pit with a defect around an hour before the end, we moved up another position to ninth. In the end, after eight hours, we were able to celebrate eighth in class and ninth overall, which earned us 13 points. After two races we are eighth in the world championship with 35 points.”
