Motoain Racing Team will switch from Formula EWC to the all-new Production category for this week’s 8 Hours of Spa Motos, citing the “less material investment and smaller human team” needed to compete.
Riders Pierre Gelas and Jordy Manneveau, part of Motoain’s line-up when it returned to the FIM Endurance World Championship for the 24 Heures Motos in April after a season away, will continue with the French outfit with Thomas Wolfarth replacing Vincent Ferre.
Explaining the change to the EWC’s new entry-level category, a Motoain statement read: “We're a team of amateur riders who ultimately don't have the financial or human means to stay in the top category. We fully accept this decision and were very pleased to have participated in the 24 Heures Motos in the EWC category. We stay ready and motivated more than ever in this category that allows us to continue the adventure.”
Tickets remain on sale for the ever-spectacular Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps event with more information available HERE.
