Wójcik Racing Team revved up for next month’s 8 Hours of Spa Motos – when it will return to running entries in both the Formula EWC and Superstock categories – with an impressive start to the Polish championship season at Tor Poznań last weekend.
Milan Pawelec, 18, set a new track record of 1m30.566s and banked two Superbike wins for the Honda-powered team, while Mateusz Molik, also 18, was a double winner in Supertstock 1000 and Supersport 600.
New Wójcik Racing Team recruits Tomasz Rowi Wikski and Wiktor Majchrowski shared a one apiece in Superstock 600.
Wójcik Racing Team’s FIM Endurance World Championship regular Artur Wielbski was a two-time Superbike podium finisher as Jurand Kuśmierczyk finished fourth in both races on his step up from the Superstock 1000 category.
Meanwhile, 15-year-old Kacper Wójcik made his Polish Cup Sport 300 class debut and finished the two races in seventh and ninth position. Team founder and head Grzegorz Wójcik placed fourth in the Polish Sport 1000 Cup contests.
“It was a record breaking and almost perfect start of the Polish championship season for us," said Grzegorz Wójcik. “Milan reaffirmed their enormous talent, improving the track record and in his debut winning both races. Mateusz has done something almost impossible, in two days triumphed four times. All of our pupils showed a great pace, and the whole team worked perfectly, which is a very good announcement of not only the next rounds of the Polish championship, but also the EWC, for which we have prepared some exciting surprises for our fans. The results of the first round of the WMMP are also another confirmation of the potential and achievements of the Honda motorcycles. Not everything went perfectly, of course, but that's motorsport.”
Wójcik Racing Team will be back on EWC duty next in the upcoming 8 Hours of Spa Motos (6-7 June). The squad will announce the rider line-ups for its two entries soon.
