BMW Motorrad Motorsport boss Sven Blusch is looking ahead to next month’s 8 Hours of Spa Motos with considerable optimism after the BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team built a “solid foundation” during the opening round of the FIM Endurance World Championship last month.
Riders Sylvain Guintoli, Steven Odendaal and Markus Reiterberger finished the 24 Heures Motos in fourth position having held the lead during the early stages of the rain-hit event.
With the 8 Hours of Spa Motos the home event for Werner Daemen’s Belgium-based factory-supported BMW outfit, Blusch has high hopes.
“We were a bit unlucky [at Le Mans], but we’re happy with the many points,” said Blusch. “It’s a solid foundation for the rest of the season, and we’re looking forward to Spa, Werner Daemen’s home race. I think that track suits our BMW M 1000 RR well. You could already see its potential [at Le Mans].”
