Max Neukirchner celebrated winning the 24 Heures Motos as crew chief to Yamalube YART Yamaha EWC Official Team last month – 18 years on from becoming the first German rider to win the famous Le Mans race.
Neukirchner, who is pictured left in both images, partnered Frenchmen William Costes and Guillaume Dietrich to victory in the 2007 edition of the 24-hour contest riding a Suzuki.
In his role as YART crew chief – which he took on for the first time in 2024 – Neukirchner oversaw the team’s second 24 Heures Motos victory but a first for its riding trio of Marvin Fritz, Karel Hanika and Jason O’Halloran.
By winning the FIM Endurance World Championship season opener, Fritz became the first German since Neukirchner to triumph in the Circuit Bugatti event.
They celebrated turning 32 and 42 respectively on 20 April with a dramatic victory from pole position.
