MAXXESS by BMRT 3D Pirelli Motul described its fifth place overall finish in the 24 Heures Motos earlier this month as “incredible” after it dropped down to 52nd position during the rain-affected FIM Endurance World Championship season opener.
Newly renamed and with Mathieu Gines and Isaac Viñales joining existing rider Loris Cresson, MAXXESS by BMRT 3D Pirelli Motul started the Le Mans event in ninth place, dropped to 52nd before fighting back to finish fifth.
“We finish this race in a superb fifth place after 761 laps and 22 pit stops,” a statement from the Kawasaki-powered team read. “A result we are proud of, especially after being relegated to 52nd position. It was an intense ordeal marked by particularly challenging weather conditions, which spared no one. We fought to the end, together, with determination, solidarity and passion. And this result, we went for it with all our hearts.
“Our team fought relentlessly to climb the rankings. The race was a real challenge for us but we gave it our all to finally finish in an incredible fifth place. This result is a testament to the strength and determination of our team. We never gave up on anything, and we are extremely proud of what we have accomplished.”
