Kamil Krzemień joined his fellow Wójcik Racing Team riders by delivering on his potential during the FIM Endurance World Championship season-opening 24 Heures Motos last weekend.

Faced with extremely challenging conditions on a wet and slippery track, the 25-year-old made a sensational start as he charged through from 18th to third place during the opening hour at Le Mans.

Team-mates Jurand Kuśmierczyk, who raced despite aggravating a hip injury during practice, and Artur Wielebski then combined to keep Wójcik Racing Team’s #77 Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP firmly in the top five as the race progressed.

However, during a subsequent stint, Krzemień crashed heavily at Turn 8 and was unable to continue due to a shoulder injury. Although it took mechanics from the Wójcik Racing Team a handful of minutes to make repairs, the time it took to recover the squad’s damaged motorcycle to the pits left it in last position and out of contention for a strong finish, making the decision to retire inevitable.

“Without a doubt, this was one of our most challenging outings in the FIM Endurance World Championship,” said Team Principal Grzegorz Wójcik. “The entire crew did a phenomenal job, and the bike was working perfectly even after the unlucky crash we suffered in the evening. We wanted and were able to continue, but our time deficit was too great, and the conditions were extremely demanding. The risks far outweighed the potential gains, especially from the riders’ perspective. Since their safety is always our top priority, we decided to retire. It was a tough call, but the entire team put in an incredible effort in Le Mans, and that will no doubt pay off in the upcoming rounds. Huge thanks to the entire crew, our riders, and of course all the fans who supported us throughout the weekend.”
