Dafy-RAC 41-Honda’s second-place finish in the Dunlop-equipped Superstock section of last weekend’s 24 Heures Motos felt like a victory for Team Manager Julien Diguet.

Supported by new title sponsor Dafy and with Takeshi Ishizuka and Kevin Manfredi part of the riding strength for the first time, the Honda-powered squad overcame late drama to secure the runner-up spot behind the winning National Motos Honda FMA team.

“Despite two falls and a technical problem we managed to hang on to this second place in the 24 Heures Motos, which is a great victory for me,” Diguet said. “This edition was the hardest one I’ve seen but this one tasted particularly nice.”

Explaining the late scare, Chris Leesch, who completed the Dafy-RAC 41-Honda rider line-up along with Diego Poncet, said: “The broken chain came in to give an extra pinch of adrenalin but it happened at the exit of Garage Vert so Kevin had to push quite a bit to get the bike back in time but he did well so we managed to save second place.”

As well as banking 33 FIM Endurance World Cup points for finishing second, Dafy-RAC 41-Honda picked up seven points for holding fourth position in class at the eight-hour mark and nine points for reaching 16 hours in second place.
