Chris Leesch said Chromeburner-RAC 41-Honda’s Bol d’Or Superstock podium and runner-up placing in the final FIM Endurance World Cup standings owed plenty to his team and team-mates.

But the Luxembourg rider, who was partnered by Martin Renaudin, Wayne Tessels and newcomer Diego Poncet during the Bol d’Or season showdown, is already targeting the top step of the podium in the Dunlop-equipped category in 2025 to build on a successful 2024 season.

After Chromeburner-RAC 41-Honda finished second to Team 18 Sepeurs Pompiers CMS Motostore in the Bol d'Or, Leesch said: "We came [to the Bol d’Or] with the goal of achieving the best possible result in this race, knowing that the #55 team had a significant lead after their great performances at Spa and Le Mans. So, our objective was to secure a strong finish. It was a pretty eventful race, and during the night, we weren’t sure if the engine would make it to the end. The team did an incredible job and managed to keep it running until the finish.

“My team-mates, especially Martin, maintained an impressive pace, and having the young Diego with us, who was initially only supposed to do one stint but ended up riding really well, allowed us to rest a bit more – which was a big help for us. It was an excellent team effort that earned us another podium here at the Bol.”

Looking back on 2024, when he also made his debut in the Suzuka 8 Hours, Leesch said: “It’s been a great season – a second place in the Bol d’Or, a second place in the championship – and the whole team is happy. Next year, we’ll be going for revenge. It’s a beautiful end to the season – strong start, strong finish.”
