TRT27 AZ Moto will do all it can to be on the starting grid when the 46th Coca-Cola Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Race takes place next year.
The frontrunning FIM Endurance World Cup outfit had been targeting an appearance in Japan’s EWC counter last month but was forced to put those plans on hold in the build-up to the legendary race.
A statement from the Honda-powered Superstock outfit read: “We had the will to participate in the Suzuka 8 Hours but, unfortunately, the timing after Spa was too tight to prepare the transport to Japan, but also our budget estimation was not up to reality.
“This is our first season with the Honda, and the investment has been huge for the rebrand. With Sébastien Groult, director of AZ Moto, and after reflection we decided to focus on the Bol d'Or. Suzuka remains a dream and postponing it to next year will be an additional motivation.”
The Suzuka 8 Hours was a round of the Dunlop-supplied FIM Endurance World Cup for the first time this season with the tyre company joining forces with EWC promoter Warner Bros. Discovery Sports to provide a tyre support package to each European Superstock team contesting the third event of the EWC season.
Meanwhile, the title-deciding Bol d’Or takes place at Circuit Paul Ricard in France from 12-15 September. Click HERE for ticket information.
