* Tournament: All Japan Road Race Championship Series Round 8 Okayama
* Date: Sunday September 25, 2016
* Place: Okayama International Circuit (Okayama Prefecture)
Team Webike YAMAHA Takumi Kamiwada and Yuki Okamoto both competed in the J-GP2 class of All Japan Road Race Championship Series Round 8 Okayama.
In cool air of autumn that has come earlier, exciting games among young riders have started.
In the special riding period and the qualifier, the both riders fell down and failed to gain their rhythms.
On the day of the final race, it was rainy. The race took place in bad condition.
Kamiwada and Okamoto began the race as the 12th and as the 20th starter respectively.
Kamiwada began making a fierce attack as soon as he started.
He raised his position to 6th at the 7th lap.
However, because the rain was getting heavier, Kamiwada did highside and slid off the track.
Once he lost his position to 8th, the red flag stopped his race.
Okamoto made two positions up until the 9th lap from the start, but he slid off the track at the 10th lap and fell down.
The red flag stopped his race and the young rider finished in 20th.
The very difficult race that was swayed by the road condition left the both riders frustrated and unsatisfied.
The next race is Sunday November 6, in Suzuka, the final round.
We hope your continued support for the young riders!

I was not in bad condition at the pretest and had some energy to shorten the time during the race week.
During the first ride of Friday in the race week, I ran in wet condition and felt down at the last corner.
The team staff had helped hard to restore the machine, so I was able to take the second ride in dry condition.
But, it was quite difficult to get a rhythm, though it might be because of the influence of the fall, so I failed to raise the time.

I entered the qualifying race with anxiety. I didn't reach my target time and failed to gain the rhythm again.
The result was 12th.

In the final race, a sprinkle of rain delayed the start. I faced the race with a strong feeling like "I have to go forward at any cost!"
I made a fairly good start.
"I anyway concentrated on going forward from the early stage and
passed over one by one, raising the position to the 5th."
As the race went on, the rain was getting heavier and caused highside. Then, I slid off the track to the gravel.
Many other riders fell down and the red flag stopped the race. The race was not resumed and the elapsed time at the 10th lap became the result. I ended up 8th.

I had a feeling like "the big competition is yet to come!" Therefore, I am frustrated and disappointed.
The result at the qualifying race was bad and running that position was all my fault. I have really felt the result was miserable.
I would like to thank the team staff who restored the machine with all their best at the turnover on Friday, coach Abe who encouraged me before the race, all the sponsors and fans. Thank you very much for all your support.
I pledge of a good result at the final round at Suzuka to return the support!

The pretest was the first ride for me at the Okayama circuit. I had a good impression about the course and was able to clear the target time.

The first ride was in rain on the first day of the race week. I was obsessed with dealing with the slippery road surface.
The second ride was in dry condition. I was going to conquer the half-remembered course, but engine trouble happened and I was not able to ride. I had to enter the qualifying race with anxiety.

In the qualifying race, I raised the time every lap with thinking "I', doing my best." I finally updated my best time at the pretest.
When I thought "I can raise the time more!", I did highside and fell down.

The final race in which I started as 20th.
I made a start when it started raining. I made my pace slower than the other riders from the beginning.
As the rain was getting heavier, the number of riders who fell down was increasing. I, too, did highside and slid off the track.
I tried to get back to the course, but I failed to regain my balance and fell down again. Then, the red flag.
I finished 20th in the Okayama round.

From the first day of the race week to the final race, the race went on very badly.
I was aware of many things that I lack and I keenly felt my poor ability.
I felt nothing but disappointment. I need to change my mind and just make efforts hard toward the next round.

The next race is the final round at Suzuka.
I again need to start from how to deal with the course at Suzuka. I am going to definitely get satisfied results in every aspect such as time and result!!

I wish to thank all of those who have helped me: coach Abe, the team staff, all the sponsors and fans. Thank you very much for all your support!

Yuki Okamoto
