Are the very cheap electric heating gloves made in China usable?

Electric heating wear that has become quite common.
In particular, many of you may be seriously considering installing electric heating gloves.

I think the reason why it is becoming popular is that hands get cold the most, and that it is an important (life-threatening) part of the motorcycle operation, and that it can be purchased at a lower price than jackets among electric heating equipment.

But that being said, it's still expensive!
So, I bought a very cheap Chinese electric heating glove as a sacrifice.

There are two types of electric heating gloves.

I don't have to tell you this.
There are two types: "battery built-in type" and "car body connection type".

Built-in battery type

24087049_3.jpg
The ones from just 10 years ago were not good at all.
The battery runs out quickly, it is not powerful, and the battery is big and heavy. I can't use this thing!

However, with the advent and spread of lithium batteries, the situation has changed dramatically.
As of 2021, small, lightweight, high-performance battery-integrated systems are available from various companies.

If it's warm enough to ride the bike, two or three batteries, including a spare, will last you a whole day, and you shouldn't have any complaints about power.

But it's still expensive .......
The price of the glove itself is also quite high, but if you include the spare battery, you will be blown away by two ten thousand bills, or even three if you are not good.

Car body connection type

EK201_01.jpg

Perfect and inexpensive because it doesn't need a power battery!
The cord that grows out of the glove is a hindrance, and it is troublesome to connect the wire every time you get in and out of the car.
I'm also worried about ...... what if the cord gets caught and I can't get it off the vehicle in the event of a fall.

There are two types of power supply, one is to connect to the battery wiring of the car body, and the other is to connect to the USB terminal which is likely to be installed around the steering wheel.
In the case of the wiring interruption type, electrical wiring work is necessary, and in the case of the USB type, I have a feeling that I will be troubled by the lack of power.

Electric heat definitely works!

ID202.jpg

No matter how shabby the electric glove is, it should definitely be warmer than just a winter glove.

The reason is simple, in the case of ordinary winter gloves, the heat source is the heat emitted from the glove itself, and the glove only retains the heat to keep that body heat from escaping, whereas the electric heating glove has a heat source other than body heat.

It's the same logic that a low-performance thermos with a heat-generating function will end up warmer than any high-performance thermos.

But even though it's cheaper, it's still expensive .......
Is there anything you can do about it? ......

I imported it from China.

I want an electric glove, but I can't afford it!
When I was thinking about it, I found a very cheap electric heating glove for sale in China.
This is not a common Chinese copy product, "the factory that produces famous brand products has changed the logo to its own thing and is selling it illegally," but a product that is supposed to be used in China.

But this...It's so weird!
The product description is also full of contradictions, and to be frank, the reliability is less than zero.
The content of the warning and the product description were different, and it was impossible to determine what was true.

In addition, as is the case with Chinese products that are normally available in Japan, product reviews and impressions are unusually high, and I want to say, "There's no way! I want to put a tsukkomi.
It's obviously a cherry on top.

It is a Chinese roundabout itself no matter how you think about it like that, but I decided to try to import it personally to try things.
also1500yen including shippingThat's what it was.

There's a reason why it's so cheap.

The first one I bought is not a built-in battery.
Vehicle body connection requiredThe cheapest one.for the first time.
You're buying a suspiciously cheap product, so it has to be thoroughly cheap to be interesting.

The delivery time took about 3 weeks.
It said it was in stock, but I don't expect it to be shipped the next day, and that's to be expected.

But I didn't expect it to be sent as a letter instead of a parcel.
It was compressed into a floppy mess, but no matter how you look at it, the contents aren't a letter, it's international mail, so you'll need to check the contents, and the post office people are hard at work .......

Unsealed: ─────☆

When I opened the mere envelope, which contained no cushioning material or anything, I found the glove stripped in an unsealed plastic bag.
China is awesome!

No instructions of course.
It also promises to have a distinctive oily smell.

Also, it's really uncool.
It's not that the embroidery "Mukou Haru" is uncool, but the overall design itself is surprisingly lame.

Connection ─────☆

It is wired directly from the 12V power supply of the car body, but the connection fittings arealligator clipIt was.
Seriously, .......
I think it's usually a round terminal.

Also, there is no such thing as a fuse.
It is really a structure that clips the battery terminal directly, which means that it will be energized when the switch is turned on regardless of the position of the main key.
I have no interest in safety. It seems.

Is it convenient to warm up without starting the engine?
No, no, no, no, no, no.
There will come a day when you turn off the engine, forget the power switch on the glove and leave the car, and you can't start it the next morning.

Its a badass power harness and on./Connect the OFF switch, the switch and the glove with the connector to complete the wiring.
Very easy.

However, all the connectors are not waterproof or anything, just connectors, so if it rains, it's going to be a disaster.
The switch itself doesn't look like it's waterproofed either.

Switch on!
But there's no pilot light or anything, so I don't know if it's energized.
That's dangerous.

Hot!

I waited for a while (about a minute) and it started to get warm.
The heater seems to be in the back of the hand and the back of the fingers.

However, it is not the feeling that becomes warm on the surface because it is the structure that a little hard wiring becomes hot (the feeling that the wire with a large resistance value is contained).
Even though it is not enough to interfere with the operation, it is not flattering to the feeling of operation.

But it's nice to be warm in just a minute!
I was just wondering. In less than three minutes, it'll be extremely hot!

It's not a temperature you can keep your hands in.
But since we were on a public road, we couldn't stop suddenly, and when I tried to stop and pressed the clutch (I almost never operate the clutch while driving), the part that was locally hot hit the base of my thumb and said "Hot!

You've been lightly burned.

dangerous

Although I had expected it at the time when there was no temperature control in the power switch, it was the specification which heats up with 12V full power by switch ON.

Turn on the power frequently./If you turn it off, it might work somehow, butConvenience sucks.
Moreover, because the body of the glove is a flimsy cloth that does not seem to be particularly excellent cold performance. As soon as you turn it off, it's cold, cold, cold.It will be a

If you compare this to everyday life, you have a kotatsu where the temperature can only be adjusted to "high", and if it is too hot, you have to go to the next cold room to unplug it.
Something like that.

The wiring from the glove is just a cord coming out of a random cut without any effort.
Oh no.

And the cord is not flexible, it's very hard, so it's really disturbing.
Oh no.

buying cheap goods is a waste of money

karsten-winegeart-91YHapgLnB0-unsplash.jpg
It's all about the loss of money in buying cheap things.

It is true that ¥1500 including shipping is cheap.
But what you get with it is uncommonly hot, and completely beyond what human hands can withstand.

This time, it is only good to throw away because it was a cheap electric heating glove of the trial, but if you buy an electric heating jacket or something that is pricey there, it will become a thing that you cannot cry over.

After learning from this, the next step is to find an electric glove with a built-in battery, temperature control, waterproof, manufacturer's warranty, unlikely to break, surface heating, winter glove protection, and a good design at ....... It's no longer the same as ordinary gloves available in Japan.

Electrothermal gloves aren't too expensive. That's what it costs to make a serious product. That's what I'm saying.
I recommend everyone to buy a serious product so as not to lose money on a cheap one.
