Debuting in 2018, the 60th anniversary of the Cub, the Super Cub C125 has been redesigned in Europe. It has an all-new engine that complies with the new Euro 5 emissions regulations and improved equipment. It is expected to release in Japan around September 2021.

The engine will be the same type as the new Grom (MSX125) and Monkey 125, but the gears will remain 4-speed.

The new Super Cub C125 uses the same long-stroke and high-compression-ratio engine as the new Grom, which went on sale this past March. However, unlike the manual transmission-type Grom, which has new 5-speed gear, the C125 remains a 4-speed unit. It is thought that the number of gears was not increased because the centrifugal clutch rotary transmission (only when stopped) could not be removed for the Cub series.

The engine has a new airbox and injector position, and the exhaust system has been improved internally without changing its appearance. The number of catalytic converters has been reduced from 2 to 1 in response to improved combustion efficiency. These changes have resulted in a slight increase in maximum output from 9.65 PS (7.1 kW) to 9.79 PS (7.2 kW), while still complying with emissions regulations.

The 2022 Super Cub C125 was announced in Europe, and this matte gray is the only color scheme available in Europe.

Pillion seat is now standard equipment on the European version! Expect the same in the Japanese specs

In terms of equipment, the spring rates of the front and rear suspensions have been changed to improve ride comfort over rough surfaces. The brakes are now equipped with single-channel ABS for added safety. A pillion seat is now standard equipment, allowing two people to ride together. In Europe, pillion footpegs were not available, but the Japanese version had pillion footpegs but no pillion seat, so we hope that this discrepancy can be resolved in Japan as well.

The coloring is a matte gray that has not been used on previous models in the Cub series, giving it a much more luxurious feel. While retaining the practicality and ease of use unique to the Cub series, the new model's appeal as a high-end model that satisfies the desire to own has been enhanced.

The combination of analog speedometer and LCD remains unchanged. The gear position is also displayed for smooth shifting.

The use of a smart key is also conventional. The seat is also electronically locked, so it cannot be opened without the key.

The only C125 in the Cub series equipped with cast wheels, the rear is a drum type but the front is a disc type with ABS.

A pillion seat is available as an option from Takegawa in Japan, but the factory seat is also available. It appears to fit over the same rear carrier as the Takegawa, but is quite a bit larger.
