Hokkaido Smartphone Stamp Rally” Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Hokkaido Expressway Opening Begins

With the aim of promoting driving tourism in Hokkaido, the NEXCO East Hokkaido Branch will hold a campaign called "Hokkaido Smartphone Stamp Rally: 50th Anniversary of Hokkaido Expressway! Hokkaido Smartphone Stamp Rally" will be held from 10:00 a.m. on April 23, 2021.

The Hokkaido Smartphone Stamp Rally has been held eight times since 2017, with a cumulative total of 51,000 participants. This time, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Hokkaido Expressway, the rally has been further enhanced by adding new acquisition spots and new functions, while maintaining the ease of participating for free using a smartphone. There are also 500 prizes to be won in a drawing, the most in history. The stamp rally will ride until March 31, 2021.

Hokkaido Smart Phone Stamp Rally

1. Power-up points from last time

The period for collecting stamps and accepting applications has been extended to one year (Friday, April 23, 2021 to Thursday, March 31, 2021), the longest period ever, to allow more time to collect stamps.

In order to make it easier for repeat visitors to enjoy the tour, 61 new spots have been added to the list, bringing the total number of spots where stamps can be obtained to 300, including SA/PAs, roadside stations, and tourist facilities (30 of which are winter-only spots available from December 1 (Wednesday)). A record number of 500 people will be entered into a drawing to win prizes based on the number of stamps obtained and other conditions. For details, see Attachment-2 [PDF: 621KB].). Novelty goods commemorating the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Hokkaido Expressway are also available.

The game is equipped with a level-up function that changes the status display on the screen in 11 levels according to the number of stamps obtained. In addition, when you reach the highest level (300 stamps), you will receive a metal status card and a certificate.

2. Collaboration with external organizations

(1) Cooperation with Scenic Byway Hokkaido
We recommend 8 places in Scenic Byway Hokkaido as a place to get stamps (For details, see Attachment-3 [PDF: 322KB].).

(2) Cooperation with Toyako Usu Geopark, Hokkaido
In cooperation with Hokkaido and the Lake Toya Usu Geopark, the Toyako Visitor Center and Volcano Science Museum were designated as stamp acquisition spots.

3. Tie-up with "Hokkaido Kanko Furuppasu

The "Hokkaido Kanko Furypass Prize" is available only to those who use the "Dora-wari Hokkaido Kanko Furypass" (limited to ETC vehicles), which allows unlimited travel on Hokkaido's expressways at a fixed price.

4. "Hokkaido Driving Guide" for more fun!

The "Hokkaido Driving Guide (Spring/Summer Edition)," scheduled for publication in late April, will include information on sightseeing throughout Hokkaido as well as a special feature on the "Hokkaido Smartphone Stamp Rally," including information on recommended model courses and special discounts that can be used at stamped spots.
