Honda announced the launching the Grom, a two-wheeled moped sports model with unique styling and nimble performance, on Thursday, March 25, 2021, with a completely redesigned engine and exterior.
The new 123cc, air-cooled, four-stroke, OHC, single-cylinder engine was developed for this model. The new engine features a higher compression ratio and low friction technology throughout, resulting in both increased maximum output and outstanding environmental performance. In addition, a five-speed transmission with an optimized gear ratio has been adopted to handle a wide range of situations, from city driving to short tours. The new model pursues the fun of handling as a sports model.
The exterior has been redesigned with a playful, chunky styling. The side view is accentuated by circular garnishes around the cowl mounting bolts and LED headlights with a strong presence. The wheels feature five spokes for a more agile feel. The cowl and side covers are simple and easy to remove for easy maintenance and customization.
Standard suspension features include single-channel ABS that contributes to a sense of security when braking. The digital meter has been enhanced with a gear position indicator and a REV indicator for enhanced usability.
Two body colors will be available: Force Silver Metallic with distinctive yellow accents and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic for a more subdued look that looks great on the street.

*1 The fuel consumption rate is a value under the specified test conditions. They vary depending on various conditions such as the customer's operating environment (weather, traffic congestion, etc.), driving method, vehicle condition (equipment and specifications), and maintenance status.
*2 Local fuel consumption values are fuel consumption rates based on actual measurements at constant vehicle speed.
*3 The WMTC mode value is a calculated value based on the results of emission tests conducted in the international standard driving mode, which includes starting, accelerating, and stopping. Driving mode classes are classified according to displacement and maximum speed.
