BMW Launches the 2021 R nineT Series with an Attractive Lineup of Derivative Models

BMW has announced the launch of the R nineT series, the 2021 model of its flagship model in the heritage segment, and has opened bookings.

The R nineT Urban G/S, an enduro model that inherits its DNA from the legendary 1980 R 80 G/S, the R nineT Scrambler, which pays homage to the unique motorcycle genre, and the R nineT Pure, a roadster model that has been simplified to the minimum level necessary. The BMW R nineT and BMW R nineT Pure roadster models are launched. The BMW R nineT and BMW R nineT Scrambler will be delivered in late March, while the BMW R nineT Pure and BMW R nineT Urban G/S will be delivered in April.

The R nineT is powered by an air-oil-cooled boxer engine with a new cylinder head that optimizes torque and design. It produces a maximum output of 80 kW (109 hp) at 7,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 116 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The throttle valve components and cylinder head cover have also been redesigned to further enhance the aesthetic appeal. Inside the cylinder head is a new turbulence system that allows the mixture to swirl for better, cleaner combustion and optimized torque. The output and torque curves have evolved significantly, especially between 4,000 and 6,000 rpm, and the driving force is even more powerful than the previous generation model.

ABS Pro in combination with Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) is now standard equipment, providing increased safety when braking on banked surfaces or in difficult conditions. In addition, new shock absorbers with stroke-dependent dampers (WAD) enhance suspension comfort and allow spring pre-load to be easily adjusted with the handwheel. In addition, 'Rain' and 'Road' riding modes are now standard.
