Honda will release the fully remodeled "Dio110", a two-class moped scooter that combines nimble riding and easy-to-handle power characteristics, on Thursday, February 25, 2020, with a newly designed "eSP"*1 engine, a lightweight and highly rigid "eSAF"*2 frame, and the highly convenient Honda SMART Key system.
*1 eSP: eSP stands for enhanced, Smart, and Power. eSP is a generic term for scooter engines that incorporate advanced technologies, such as fuel-efficient technology and ACG starters, to enhance both environmental and dynamic performance.

The newly designed air-cooled, 4-stroke, OHC, 109cc, single-cylinder eSP engine mounted on the Dio110 features a compact combustion chamber with a higher compression ratio and a longer stroke for improved fuel economy, resulting in a high level of compatibility between powerful performance and environmental performance. The newly designed eSAF frame uses high-tensile steel for the press material and the latest technology such as laser welding to create a highly rigid and lightweight frame. In addition, the new model features enhanced equipment to enhance usability, including the Honda SMART Key system and an ECO indicator to support fuel-efficient driving.

Main Features
Newly designed engine eSP
The engine is equipped with the newly designed eSP with improved combustion efficiency. The combustion chamber has been made more compact, the compression ratio has been increased, and the bore diameter and stroke have been modified to achieve a longer stroke. Output and torque in the low- to mid-range rpm range have been improved, resulting in a nimble and powerful drive. A double cog belt is used in the drivetrain to transmit power from the engine to the rear wheels more efficiently, contributing to lower fuel consumption.
Newly designed eSAF frame with high rigidity and lightweight using the latest technology
The frame uses a newly designed frame, eSAF, which is made of a high-tensile steel plate (high-tensile material) to achieve high rigidity and lightweight. The conventional steel tube frame has been replaced by a press-formed frame with high processing accuracy, and the formed frame is welded using a laser. In addition, by taking advantage of the press-formed frame's resistance to external forces from the longitudinal direction, the suspension absorbs more shock from the road surface, which, combined with the reduced weight, results in a comfortable and nimble ride.
A full range of attractive equipment
The newly adopted Honda SMART Key system enables the main switch knob to be unlocked without having to take out the smart key itself. In addition, a new front inner box with a lid has been added to the instrument panel, and an ECO indicator, which supports fuel-efficient driving, and a liquid crystal display (LCD), which shows driving distance and other information, have been added to the analog instrument panel for improved usability.
Active and high-quality styling to match the evolution of driving
The dynamic body lines express a more active appearance, and the geometric patterns on the muffler cover and floor steps create a sense of quality. A total of four colors are available: Pearl Jasmine White for a refreshing look, Decent Silver Metallic for a sophisticated look, Matte Starry Blue Metallic for a calm look, and Matte Galaxy Black Metallic for a fearless look. The matte color type is also available. As specifications exclusive to the matte color type, a three-dimensional emblem is placed on the rear side of the vehicle body and gray stitching is applied to the seats to create a special atmosphere.
