HARLEY-DAVIDSON Japan has started pre-ordering the Japanese model of HARLEY-DAVIDSON's first electric sports motorcycle "Livewire" from December 3 (Thu) at HARLEY-DAVIDSON official website and authorized Livewire dealers nationwide.

Livewire is a completely new motorcycle that uses electricity as its only energy source. With no clutch operation required, it delivers 100% torque the moment the throttle is twisted, and the riding experience of reaching 100km/h in about 3 seconds is truly a new dimension, one that is worthy of being the flagship of HARLEY-DAVIDSON electric sports motorcycles.

The world's first mass-produced electric sports motorcycle*1, the Livewire is the first Japanese model to be introduced in Asia. It features a new H-D sound during acceleration, seven ride modes optimized for rider preference and road conditions, and a wealth of advanced safety technologies.

At the bottom of the Livewire chassis is the H-D Revelation electric motor, which is the heart of an electric motorcycle, and above it (in the center of the body) is a 15.5 kWh high-voltage battery, with a maximum range of approximately 235 km (in city mode)*2 when 100% charged.

In addition to regular charging (J1772), it is also compatible with the CHAdeMO quick charging standard, which is commonly used in Japan, and can be easily charged in town, at SA/PA, and at roadside stations. The battery comes with a five-year unlimited mileage warranty, and the vehicle itself also comes with a three-year warranty.

From December 11 (Fri.), the Japanese model will be displayed at authorized dealers nationwide.

The Heart of Livewire, the H-D Revelation Electric Powertrain

Powered by a 15.5 kWh high-voltage battery (RESS: Rechargeable Energy Storage System) consisting of lithium-ion batteries, the H-D Revelation electric powertrain (motor) is driven when the rider turns the throttle.

Of course, the exhaust gas is zero. Free from the hassle of a clutch or shifting gears, you can freely control the rpm by operating the throttle lever for easy riding. The Livewire is also equipped with a sub-battery to supply power for starting.

Select from 7 ride modes via touch panel! You can choose the ride mode you want!

Riders are free to choose from seven different ride modes through the color touchscreen, which also displays the speedometer and battery level.

In addition to the Sport Mode, which delivers full power and the fastest throttle response, the Road Mode emphasizes balance and is ideal for everyday use, the Range Mode maximizes range, and the Rain Mode emphasizes safety performance and is ideal in rough weather. In addition to these modes, three "Custom Modes" can also be registered to allow the rider to make their own adjustments.

The unique technology of Livewire that supports a different dimension of driving

Livewire provides regenerative charging when the throttle is not open for riding. This regenerative process feels like engine braking to the rider, and the level of regeneration can be selected by the rider through the Ride Mode setting described above.

The H-D/MICHELIN Scorcher Sport tires are specially designed by Livewire, and the SFF-BP (Separate Function Front Fork - Big Piston) made by SHOWA in Japan provides excellent low-speed damping control, and other innovative technologies and parts support the different dimension of riding.

Advanced Safety Technology REFLEX Defensive Rider System (RDRS)

Livewire's agile handling provides not only sure control in the city, but also a thrilling and safe ride on curvy mountain roads. This is supported by the Reflex Defensive Rider System (RDRS), an advanced safety technology that optimizes the motorcycle's performance according to acceleration, deceleration, and braking traction. Designed to assist the rider's control of the vehicle while accelerating and braking in a straight line or turn, the system can be useful for driving on rough roads or in emergency situations.

Compatible with two charging options including CHAdeMO with a 5-year battery warranty

Ordinary charging (J1772) using the included charging cable (200V 3-pin plug) can fully charge the battery from 0% to 100% in approximately one night (about 12.5 hours), making it ideal for charging at home. It is also compatible with the latest Level 3 Quick Charge (DCFC) technology (CHAdeMO standard), making it easy to charge on the go.

It is capable of 0-80% DC fast charge in about 40 minutes and 100% full charge in about 60 minutes. The battery (RESS) is warranted for 5 years and there is no limit to the mileage.
