Yamaha, which just announced the new "MT-07 Y-AMT" the other day, has released a teaser movie that hints at another new model. Could the world view that evokes winding touring be the new "TRACER9 GT" that is expected to be released?
"Shift into the future." Shift into the future = Y-AMT?
In the early morning of October 29th, Yamaha Motor UK posted the "X" and a 9-second video on YouTube and various SNS. Although the motorcycle does not appear at all, the video shows a winding road reminiscent of the European mountains and riders enjoying touring, and at the end, the words "OCTOBER 29th PM4:00" are written. The "X" posted at the same time was accompanied by the sentence "Shift into the future. Coming soon on October 29th 🔥".
This video is sure to show that a new touring model will be announced today, October 29th. So what kind of model is it? If you ask me, this is probably a model change of the "TRACER 9GT" that has been expected for a while. And the 3-cylinder 888cc engine that the Tracer 9GT is equipped with is the same as the "MT-09 Y-AMT" already announced. If the "Shift into the future" indicated by the X is a reference to the Y-AMT, which has a futuristic shift change mechanism, does that mean that the Tracer 9GT+ Y-AMT is likely to be released? The announcement will be made at 4:00 PM on October 29th, which is 1:00 AM on the 30th in Japan time. We will probably find out what it is tomorrow.

Will the combination of millimeter wave radar and "Y-AMT" produce new functions?
The TRACER 9GT, released in 2021, is a large sports touring model that is a full model change of the previous Tracer 900GT. Its versatility, based on the concept of a "multi-role fighter," has earned it great popularity overseas, and the TRACER 9GT+, added in 2023, is equipped with adaptive cruise control using millimeter wave radar, radar-linked unified brakes, a quick shifter, and other advanced technologies to enhance long-distance touring support.
The Tracer 9GT is also highly compatible with the Y-AMT, which allows clutchless shifting and automatic shifting. The Y-AMT, which first appeared on the MT-09, has been attracting attention for its efficient shifting that further enhances sports performance, and its benefits are the same for the MT-07, which was announced later.
Speaking of the Tracer 9GT, although it is not a sporty character that pursues track performance, it has long been known for its sporty riding performance derived from the CP3 engine that exerts 120 PS. There is no doubt that the Y-AMT will assist this. Furthermore, in combination with the millimeter wave radar adopted by the Tracer 9GT+, new automatic control that has never been seen before will be possible. In fact, the "1390 Super Adventure S EVO" announced by KTM realizes automatic stopping and automatic starting by combining radar and AMT. There is a possibility that such a function will be added to the Tracer 9GT+.
