[New Motorcycle] Triumph’s new adventure model, the Tiger Sports 800, equipped with an 800cc three-cylinder engine, will be released in February 2025 for approximately $9201.15!
Triumph's adventure model Tiger series is one that any rider who enjoys long distance riding has probably considered buying at least once. The Tiger Sport 800, equipped with an 800cc engine, has been newly added to the Tiger series.
The name "Tiger" first appeared in Triumph's history with the "Tiger 80" in 1937, at a time when motorcycle categories had not yet been established, and it was primarily a road sports model. Since then, the name Tiger has been widely used as the name of sports motorcycles, from road models to off-road models, but at Triumph today it is the name given to adventure and other category motorcycles. Tiger was established as the name of an adventure model after the Tiger 900 in 1993, and the current lineup includes 1200, 900, 850, and 660 engine displacements, with the addition of the new "Tiger Sports 800" equipped with an 800cc engine.
The Tiger Sports 800 can be said to be a motorcycle that is closer to road sports among the Tiger series.
It has the high ride height typical of an adventure motorcycle, yet also combines outstanding sports performance.
As it was born in Europe, where tandem touring is common, it is comfortable even when carrying a passenger.
The cowling with its large screen gives the front a sense of considerable volume.
When viewed from the rear, the area around the seat has a tapered design, giving it a strong sports motorcycle impression.
The wide handlebars and the wide screen provide a great deal of protection, making long-distance riding comfortable. The headlight, turn signals and taillight all use LEDs.
The handlebars are set quite high, putting you in a very upright position.
The stylish "Cosmic Yellow/Sapphire Black" color scheme.
"Caspian Blue/Sapphire Black" creates a calm atmosphere.
The only solid color available is Sapphire Black, which enhances a sharper image.
The basic color is a gray-ish "graphite/sapphire black."
New 800cc 3-cylinder engine
The Tiger Sports 800 is a sibling model of the previously released Tiger Sports 660, and is a model that is primarily designed for paved roads. It is equipped with a half cowl with a large height-adjustable screen, a spacious and comfortable seat for both the rider and passenger, an integrated passenger grab handle, and more, making it a model that demonstrates excellent performance for long-distance riding.
The screen can be manually adjusted to two different heights, and the headlights come with daytime running lights.
The fuel tank, which has a capacity of 18L, features a large "800" logo.
The seat is designed to be comfortable for tandem riders and reduce fatigue even on long rides.
It is equipped with a water-cooled 3-cylinder ODHC engine with a bore x stroke of 78 x 55.7 mm and an engine displacement of 798 cc. An engine with a similar displacement is the 765 cc engine installed in the Speed Triple 765 series, which has a bore x stroke of 78 x 53.4 mm. Considering that the bore is the same 78 mm, it is basically considered to be a stroke-up version of the engine for the Speed Triple 765 series.
The engine specifications for the Tiger Sports 800 are maximum power output of 115 PS (85 kW) / 10,750 rpm and maximum torque of 84 Nm / 8,500 rpm. The engine specifications for the standard model of the Speed Triple 765 are maximum power output of 120 PS (88.3 kW) / 11,500 rpm and maximum torque of 80 Nm / 9,500 rpm, so it can be said that it is tuned for medium and low speeds.
The engine is a 798cc 3-cylinder. It produces a maximum output of 115PS and a maximum torque of 84Nm at 8500rpm, so you won't be dissatisfied with the power performance.
Three riding modes are available: "Road", "Sport" and "Rain", allowing you to adjust the engine response to suit the riding conditions. Equipped with Triumph Shift Assist (quick shifter) and cruise control, it reduces fatigue on long-distance rides, and traction control and cornering ABS provide optimal performance under all conditions, realizing high controllability.
