An attractive custom XSR125 was spotted at the Tokyo Motorcycle Show, which started on Friday, March 22. It is a demo machine loaded with newly developed XSR125 compatible parts by ACTIVE and KIJIMA, two companies that comprehensively develop and sell custom parts, respectively.
It is interesting to note that, while both have a scrambler style with an off-road taste, the finished impression is completely different.

Refreshing Kijima Custom for the Urban Scrambler
Let us start with Kijima's XSR125. The concept of this machine is an urban scrambler, and it is more oriented toward a cheerful style of riding through the city rather than a hard-hitting off-road bike. While keeping the stock light blue color, the machine was given a new look with the addition of a meter visor that perfectly matched the color of the original.
The handlebars are up & wide, and the trucker handlebars with brace bars added.
The silhouette has been cleaned up with a fenderless kit and fenders, and the blinkers and mirrors have been changed to a smaller & simpler design. The underguard is also light, made of punch-hole aluminum. Conversely, the tail lamps have been enlarged to make a stronger impression. Together with the plated tandem grips, the presence of the tail area has been greatly enhanced.
A helmet lock, which is not equipped on the OEM model, has been added as a utility part. The machine is also equipped with a side bag support, but the support itself is so well designed that it looks good even without the bag. It is a machine that realizes a street-trucker style like the TW of the past.
Custom "153 GARAGE" forest road scrambler inspired by the "Miniature" GT50/80
The XSR125, which was put together by ACTIVE's neo-classic custom brand 153 GARAGE, proposes a customization that can be easily challenged.
The coloring is a retro style inspired by the famous Minitre GT50/80 of yesteryear, and the image is completely different. Still, looking at the details, all the customization can be realized by replacing parts.
It looks cool! If you think "Cool!", realizing it with the ideal parts is not difficult.
The key to the style is the handle. The steel handlebars with braces create an up-and-back style. The aluminum up fenders and rear fenderless kit create a lightweight suspension silhouette. To further enhance the off-road look, a headlight guard, simple chain guard, wide step bars, and aluminum skid plates were added to give the vehicle a rugged look that makes it easy to take to the forest trails.
