The very income dedicated to loneliness

I replaced my Daytona intercom. When I returned to motorcycling three years ago, I knew I would still have the opportunity to tour while talking to other intercoms, I purchased a relatively affordable Daytona model that also had the ability to pair calls with other companies' intercoms, but unfortunately, I never had that opportunity.

The number of long-distance touring trips that I used to take so often has drastically decreased to about once a year at most, and the number of friends I used to spend time with has also been decreasing due to family obligations and physical reasons, I find myself the only one who still rides a motorcycle. As I got older, my disposable income increased, but I am still single, so I bought a 4-wheeler, which I have loved since I was a kid, out of a momentary lapse of imagination, I have less and less chances to ride my motorcycle on weekends. Rain or shine, I ride my bike. I used to say that the reason I couldn't beat the cold or the heat was because I wasn't enthusiastic enough. I wonder where I have gone from those days when I used to say, I can't beat the cold or the heat because I don't have enough spirit. The days I ride my bike are mostly for commuting on weekdays, and even if I ride on weekends, it's only for a day trip back home.

As someone who works 95% solo, there is one thing that has always bothered me. That is that the intercom (housing) is huge. It is thick anyway. The thickest part is nearly 4 cm. The 4cm protrusion is quite impressive, and it is very conspicuous when attached to a small helmet. I chose a model with excellent cost performance, so I should not pay attention to the size of the housing, but I have used it many times over the past 3 years.

"Nobody cares about that. No one is looking at it." "It's not worth the trouble to replace it."

I I told myself that I could do it, but I couldn't.

B+COM PLAY is a compact intercom with the smallest size of any Japanese-made intercom, yet it is very comfortable to use.

The thickness, which may be surprising, is very thin and less noticeable compared to other companies' products.

I decided to buy a new model from B+COM, which is still very cool. I thought about choosing the SB6XR, which can talk to multiple people, but then I thought about it and realized that I am what is called a loner.

I don't need anything high end anymore. I just need to be able to connect to my iPhone and listen to the navigation system's voice and music. The B+COM Play is probably the smallest intercom enclosure I've found in such a drastically different environment. Isn't it exactly what I need now? If I really need to have a conversation, it is enough to connect with a line phone.
There is no way not to choose this. And it's cheap. I received it right after I purchased it and replaced the unit.

The sound quality was reviewed as poor by our predecessors, but it is not a problem at all. I have no problem with it at all, although I can't even compare it to the audio system in my motorcycle, I feel the sound quality is better than the model I had before I replaced it. It's a dedicated intercom for loners, and I can even make calls when I need to.
(I heard that it also picks up audio, but I don't know how good the microphone is since I don't talk to my phone while riding in the motorcycle.)

After all, Arai helmets are B+COM made in Japan. I think that cosmetics is important, but also looks and appearance are important. The song feed operation, which I was very dissatisfied with, can be done by pressing and holding the button on the upper side for 1 second. The UI of these small details of B+COM is well done. The buttons are small and have a short stroke, but they have a clicky feel and a high-quality atmosphere.

If I go touring with someone more often I will buy a high end machine.
Will I get off my bike first or? How about that opportunity?

⇒ YES!

Intercoms have already become common gear. While they are very useful as a communication tool for mass-touring and tandem riding, solo riders may have the image that they are unnecessary. In reality, however, intercoms can be very useful for solo riders as well, for listening to music and radio, listening to navigation audio, receiving phone calls, and so on.

The B+COM PLAY, which we received an impression of this time, is an entry model of B+COM that is specialized for solo use. The call function is omitted, so it is very compact! The buttons and response speed are also good, as is the stress-free usability that is typical of Japanese products. While the word "lone rider intercom" may sound a bit sad, it seems to be a tool that makes riding alone more enjoyable.
