On December 12, Kawasaki Heavy Industries held a progress report meeting on its group vision for 2030. Kawasaki Motors, which develops and produces motorcycles and other power sports products, set forth its strategy to achieve sales of 1 trillion yen by 2030, while promoting its carbon-neutral initiatives for motorcycles.

Kawasaki Motors unveiled the world premiere of a hydrogen-powered motorcycle based on the H2 SX as the centerpiece of its Group Vision announcement. President Hiroshi Ito said the motorcycle, based on the H2 SX, will begin test runs at the beginning of the year and will be studied with an eye toward the future.
The H2 SX-based hydrogen-engine motorcycle, which was shown in videos and images at the Milan Show in November 2022, has been unveiled as a real vehicle for the first time, and it was developed as a test vehicle that can run, not as a mock-up. A four-wheeled baby carriage equipped with the same engine is scheduled to participate in the Dakar Rally to be held in January 2024.
According to Kawasaki, the target date for commercialization of hydrogen-engine motorcycles is early 2030, and the company is pursuing the survival of the internal combustion engine. Interestingly, the company has also announced a six-cylinder version of the H2R engine for aviation use, which it says will also be converted to a hydrogen engine in the future.
Kawasaki's efforts in engines will be closely watched.

This was the world's first public showing of a vehicle that can operate on hydrogen. The headlight is H-shaped.

The engine is assumed to be a direct injection type with a supercharger. The rear of the vehicle is believed to have huge hydrogen tanks mounted on either side.
Between the tanks are hydrogen inlets.

The TFT color display can be seen in the comfortable up-handle position.

The tail lights are located on the left and right. The lid between the cases opens to reveal a hydrogen fuel inlet.

Since it is an engine-powered vehicle, it is naturally equipped with an exhaust.

Hydrogen-engine motorcycles were on display at the debriefing session. This is not CG, but an actual vehicle.

Kawasaki Motors, whose roots are in Kawasaki Aircraft Industries, is about to take to the skies again with the development of an aero-engine that evolved from the motorcycle engine. The straight-six engine was developed for the first time since the Z1300.
