GSX-S125(124cc)Owner: Tokonatsu kokonatsu
This article introduces one MY BIKE submitted to Webie Community every week. The model introduced this time is SUZUKI "GSX-S125" and the owner is "Tokonatsu kokonatsu".
All three of Yamaha's new 125cc models released this fall are full-size and equipped with the latest features, making them fine sports models despite their small displacement.
However, when it comes to full-size 17-inch motorized sports models, there is already the Suzuki GSX series. Although they do not have the latest equipment such as full-color LCD and traction control, the full-fledged full-cowl GSX-R125 and the versatile naked GSX-S125 both offer power comparable to the new Yamaha models, and their simple chassis configurations have many fans. For riders who are looking to buy a 125 from now on, which one to choose may be a tough rivalry.
In this issue, we pick up an impression of the GSX-S125 from Mr. Everlasting Summer Coconut.
At first, the bike he wanted was difficult to obtain, and he had no choice but to switch to the GSX-S125, but once he started riding it, he fell in love with it. He praised the bike's high-revving, racy feel and the 250cc class-like stability that comes from its full size, saying that he felt as if he could ride it on the highway. The disadvantage is that some of the threads are slightly less precise than others. The threads had to be re-cut, so one should be very careful when selecting a vehicle.
The GSX-S125 was launched in 2017 and has received numerous impressions from various riders on both pros and cons. It is also a great way for riders who are interested in acquiring a 125cc class that has many options to choose from to gather solid information.

Riders who want to enjoy the cost performance and nimbleness of a 125cc bike while also enjoying a sporty, motorcycle-like ride! The GSX-S125 is highly acclaimed by riders who want to take advantage of its cost performance and lightweight 125cc engine while also enjoying the sporty ride that is typical of motorcycles.

This is Rinotsuka's GSX-S125. Compared to Honda's CB125R, the lower price is also attractive. It is a model that can be easily enjoyed for touring.
MYBIKE COMMENT
Motive for purchase
The bike I wanted became hard to get in Corona and I had no choice but to change to GSX-S125. But I like it very much. I use it for commuting and touring.
Advantages
At At low rpm, acceleration is quite normal, and you can taste the pulse and exhaust note of a single cylinder. However, at high rpm, both the extension and the exhaust sound show a racy character that is hard to believe that it is a single-cylinder.
I thought it was amazing. In the high-rpm range, it is more powerful than the 125 scooters, and the higher the speed, the more margin there is. In other words, considering that it can only be ridden on ordinary roads, it is uselessly powerful at high speeds, and the stability of the chassis is more like that of a 250cc than a 125cc.
Of course, the law does not allow it, but it feels like it can go on the highway. It is also fun because it is good at lane changes, U-turns, winding roads, and this kind of movement.
Disadvantages
The weak point is that it was made in Indonesia. The motorcycle I bought showed traces of assembly work that would have been impossible if it had been made in Japan.
The bolts were forcibly tightened at an angle, and even though it was a new car, the condition was quite shocking. I only removed the cowl a little, but I had to re-cut several threads to deal with the problem.
I have ridden several Suzuki cars, but this is the first case like this.
Advice for prospective buyers
There is a quality that cannot be conveyed in a photograph. I think many people will have a different impression when they see the real thing. There is no doubt that it is a great bike, but the Indonesian quality may be hit or miss. I hope that everyone who is going to buy one will be able to get a good one.
Also, until the 2021 model year, the bike will have less power generation and a modest battery, so those who customize the electrical system should keep that in mind.
