Royal Enfield of India has announced the launch of a new model, the Scrum 411, in Japan.
The 411cc air-cooled SOHC engine has a classic look, but the equipment follows that of the adventure model.
It is a new style model in the street adventure category. It will go on sale on November 1, 2022, at a price of approx. 5620 USD (base color). It will be sold at authorized Royal Enfield dealers nationwide.
The same lineage engine as the Himalaya, a style that works well on the street
The Scrum 411, which uses the same power unit as Royal Enfield's first newly designed adventure model Himalaya, is a street adventure model that can perform both in the city and off-road. Despite its classical appearance, it is equipped with a simple air-cooled single-cylinder engine with fuel injection and an output of 17.9 kW (24.3 PS)/6,500 rpm. It also meets Euro 5 emission regulations, which are strict requirements for air-cooled vehicles.
Dual ABS is used for front and rear brakes. The 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels are smaller in diameter than the Himalayan's 21-inch front wheels, making it more suitable for paved roads. The 200 mm minimum ground height, however, is considerably high, and the adventure model styling has not been lost.
Pricing is in three grades depending on coloring.
The Base color is Graphite Yellow, Graphite Red, and Graphite Blue, three gray-based colors, priced at 838,200 yen.
The Mid model comes in two vivid colors: Skyline Blue and Blazing Black, and costs 845,900 yen.
The Premium model comes in two colors: White Flame and Silver Spirit, for 853,600 yen.

The Scrum 411 focuses more on on-road performance than the Himalaya, but elements such as the high ground clearance and 19-inch spoked wheels remain those of the adventure model. Off-road driving is also possible.

The engine is the same 411cc air-cooled 4-stroke single-cylinder SOHC 2-valve engine shared with the Himalaya.
It is classic but uses injection and meets Euro 5 emission regulations. Output is 17.9 kW (24.3 PS) at 6,500 rpm.

The meter is a simple digital/analog combined single-lens meter. Various indicators are also displayed in the meter (the photo shows the model released in Europe).
The Himalaya, which had many complicated meters, has been reduced to simple and minimal functions.

The front wheels are 19 inches. The front wheels are 19 inches, and the vehicle is balanced for on-road maneuverability rather than off-road drivability. Both front and rear brakes are single hydraulic discs, and ABS is standard equipment, as in the latest models.

The seat height is 795 mm and the body weight is 194 kg. The fuel tank has a capacity of 15 liters.
