CB1100 TypeⅠ (2010)

The CB1100 was introduced in 2010. The CB1100 was born with the development concept of an air-cooled straight-4 naked, pursuing the beauty of the engine and emotional driving performance rather than specifications, but it appeared to go against the times as emission regulations, which were tightened year by year, led to the shift to injection and water-cooling of engines.

However, the CB1100 is a model that was developed in pursuit of the charm that only a rider can understand, which is difficult to be expressed in numbers, such as the taste of the air-cooled engine and the beauty of the cylinder fins.
The styling of the CB1100, which has a somewhat "Japanese" feel, is not limited to the engine, fuel tank, wheels, and even the beautiful exhaust system, which was carefully crafted down to the smallest detail to attract many riders.

The initial lineup for 2010 consisted of two types: the upright "CB1100 Type I" for a relaxed and enjoyable ride, and the "CB1100 Type II" for a sporty ride with a forward-leaning posture. At the time of its debut, the "air-cooled CB" made a strong impression on riders, and even more than 10 years ago, people were talking about how a new air-cooled four-engine engine could have been developed in this era.

CB1100RS

Production of the CB1100 series for Japanese sales will end in the fall of 2021 with the Final Edition, which will be available for a limited reservation period, and will consist of two types: the CB1100EX and the CB1100RS.

The CB1100EX is a more classically styled model with spoked wheels and up handlebars. In contrast, the CB1100RS is a model with cast wheels and a rear shock with a reservoir tank for enhanced road sports performance.

At this time, the neo-classic motorcycle genre, which combines a modern liquid-cooled engine with classical styling, is becoming established, but at that time, manufacturers were searching for the next generation of motorcycles amidst emission regulations that were becoming stricter year by year.

In this context, the CB1100 series is gaining popularity as a tasteful tasty machine with a profound sound and torque feeling rather than absolute power and speed.

Here's a Peek at Webike Users' Reviews

The first thing that attracts many is the styling. The air-cooled engine and the motorcycle atmosphere of yesteryear seem to be winning over users. Also, although the motorcycle has a strong "iron" feel and looks heavy at first glance, some say that once the motorcycle is running, it does not feel heavy at all and is lightweight. As for the engine, it seems to have a dual nature: at low speeds, it is easy to ride thanks to its abundant torque, but when you turn it up, you can enjoy the sharp acceleration that the engine displacement provides.

Some say the disadvantages are the small space under the seat, the heat from the engine in mid-summer, and the heavy weight of the vehicle, but owners seem to enjoy the good old motorcycle taste.

A Quick Summary of the CB1100

Advantages

- Six-speed manual transmission vehicles have good fuel economy.
- The latest model equipped with an assist and slipper clutch is light on the clutch operation and does not tire the hands.
- Easy and stable ride as it looks.
- Ample torque even at low rpm

Disadvantages

- Heavy and hard to maneuver
- I would like a switch to switch the meter on the steering wheel.
- Engine heat is too much.

Motive for purchase, intended use, and comparative models I have been driving a BMW Adventure for the past 6 years, and I had a sudden urge to drive a 4-cylinder engine, so I decided to buy more motorcycles.
I ordered it from my nearest dream store because I thought it would be the last chance to buy a new motorcycle since there was a possibility that it would be discontinued when Euro 5 came into effect.
Advantages/Satisfactory points The most attractive feature of this motorcycle is its looks, and just looking at it is a borderline of self-satisfaction.
It is equipped with an assist slipper clutch, so it is as light as a 250cc, which is helpful when you are tired at the end of touring.
It has a rich low-speed range and runs normally as long as it is turning 2000 rpm, and I use it regularly only up to 4000 rpm.
The seat shape is good and the cushion has some thickness, so there is little pain after a long time.
It is equipped with slim tires, so it feels light for its large size. Personally, however, I think the rear could have been one size larger and 150 wide.
The fuel consumption gauge is quite accurate and excellent with only a small margin of error from the full tank method.
Disadvantages/Dissatisfactions People say this motorcycle is heavy, but I ride a BMW Adventure so my senses are numb as far as weight and size.
In general, I think it is heavy, but I don't feel it is big.
The space under the seat ends up with ETC and onboard tools.
I was prepared for this because I bought it knowing it was air-cooled, but in the summer it is hot as if there is a brazier between my legs.
The seat is a little quirky to install, but once you get the hang of it, it's fine.
The meter switch is a direct button push type on the meter, but I wish there was a switch button on the handle switch side here.
Advice for prospective buyers It is not a motorcycle that demands speed. It is not a bike to attack corners. It is a motorcycle to be ridden slowly, comfortably, and calmly. It is a motorcycle that is comfortable in the speed range of 60 km/h on the street and 80 km/h on the highway. It was towed away after a flat tire as soon as it was delivered, but fortunately, it was pulled up free of charge with the special purchase offer from Yumeshop. A flat tire on a tube-type motorcycle will make it impossible to ride immediately. It would be preferable to tour with a rear tube. Tubes are a special size and sometimes not stocked even in dream stores. As for the future, I don't know if they will release a Euro 5 compliant model or not. If it is sold, the price of used motorcycles may rise more than the price of new motorcycles like the Zephyr in a few years.
I don't think there is much time to think about buying one.

Motive for purchase, intended use, and comparative models I decided to switch from my previous R1150RT, and I wanted to ride a big Japanese motorcycle. I had ridden an SR before, and I like the nostalgic atmosphere, so I was torn between the W800 and the W800 until the very end.
I was looking at pictures of myself astride both motorcycles at the motorcycle shop.
I decided to go with the W800 because of my wife's comment that the CB would have looked better on me.
Advantages/Satisfactory points The indescribable coolness of the air-cooled fins! The engine accelerates quickly with a sense of throttle response when the throttle is turned.
It is a picturesque place in any scenery. The view from the rear is especially cool! The rear view is especially cool! The symmetry of the two exhaust system is relaxing. I like the color of the tank! The color, design, and construction of the emblem and the silver line on the black-shaped tank are indescribable accents. The black body color really complements the chrome parts.
The spoked wheels and tube tires reduce the impact from the road and make the ride feel like riding in a cab. The motorcycle goes very well with fashionable urban clothing. There are so many good things about this motorcycle.
Disadvantages/Dissatisfactions The headlight could be a little more rocket-shaped. The meter is too big and looks like a big head. I guess it looks like a CB, but I don't like it.
Advice for prospective buyers This is a very nice motorcycle that is the result of the thoughts of Honda's engineers. It is the pioneer of neo-nostalgia, austere on the outside but with the latest technology on the inside. You can ride it with peace of mind.
If you are looking for a Honda, I highly recommend this motorcycle.

Motive for purchase, intended use, and comparative models I am switching from MT-07.
MT-07 was good, but I wanted a 4-cylinder.
I wanted to ride a 1000cc or larger motorcycle at least once.
Advantages/Satisfactory points I would compare it to MT-07, but the ride is very gentle. The suspension moves well and the ride is comfortable.
It can be driven normally even at 1500 rpm in 6th gear.
It is heavy when handling, but very light when starting to drive.
The OEM exhaust system sounds great and I don't feel the need for an external one. It has a high-class feel and a very high sense of ownership. The clutch is lighter than the MT-07.
Disadvantages/Dissatisfactions The gap is not good when downshifting, probably because I am not used to it yet. The side stand is hard to put out. It is heavy to handle.
The seat height is supposed to be lower than MT-07's, but the foot grounding is not so different due to the wider seat width.
