2020 Bangkok Motor Show: The ZX-25R is the Same Size as the Ninja 650!

ZX-25R Bangkok Motor Show Motorcycle & Industry

I'm Miya, a webike staff member, and I've been sleeping only 9 hours a night because I'm so curious about KAWASAKI's Ninja ZX-25R to be released on September 10, 2020.

The Bangkok Motor Show was held from July 15 to 26, 2020 in Bangkok, Thailand, one of the most popular motorcycle markets in Asia. Just like the Tokyo Motor Show in Japan, the Bangkok Motor Show is crowded with people in Thailand.

We asked our Webike staff in Thailand to sneak into the motor show and investigate the ZX-25R!

The price in Thailand is 269,000 baht! How much is it worth in Japanese yen?

According to information released at the Bangkok Motor Show, the ZX-25R will be priced at around 269,000 baht in Thailand. If converted to the current Japanese yen (3.4 yen per baht), it will be around 910,000 yen or around 8600 in US dollar.

The price announced in Japan is also the same as the price announced in Thailand for the Ninja ZX-25R SE KRT EDITION and Ninja ZX-25R SE at the manufacturer's suggested retail price of 913,000 yen (around 8600 USD). Until the last month or so, maybe the price will exceed about 9400 USD? It was rumored that the price was 8400 USD! Moreover, prices have to kept down considerably at around 7700 USD for the STD model.

Considering that the HONDA CBR250RR, which sold for about the same amount, sold well, we can expect the ZX-25R, the only 250cc four-cylinder engine currently available, will also sell significantly.

The size is the same level as the Ninja 650!

According to our local staff, the size of the ZX-25R is about the same as the Ninja 650. So, I took a look at it and made a quick comparison. For reference, I've also compiled the specifications of the Ninja 250.

In the table specification, the ZX-25R is the shortest in terms of length and height, and the longest in terms of width. As for the ZX-25R weight of 183kg, it may look heavy, but despite the number of cylinders being changed from 2 to 4, the ZX-25R still only weighs 17kg less than the Ninja 250.

The ZX-25R is on the left photo and the Ninja 650 is on the right photo.

The similarities between the 2 motorcycles are so great that both appear to have same size despite the differences in engine displacement. If you want to know the size and weight of the ZX-25R, I recommend looking into it beforehand, as straddling both the Ninja 250 and the Ninja 650 will help you check the foot grounding and other aspects of the motorcycle.

Stay tuned for more updates on the ZX-25R

The ZX-25R is about to be released, but I'm particularly interested in the custom parts. Custom race motorcycles have already been announced, and expectations are high for the parts that will be released by various manufacturers.

SNIPER, the manufacturer that made this announcement, is now available on Webike! We'll be posting more custom parts for the ZX-25R in the future, so stay tuned!
