Whether USDM or JDM, although it has been six years since production ended, the ZOOMER still boasts strong popularity! The unique naked form of the bare frame and twin headlights are still cool even today! And of course, the best way to enjoy the ZOOMER is to customize it! ZOOMER customization became popular in the U.S. and other countries, and compared to other 4-mini scooters, the custom culture was very fashionable, liken to car customization. Here, we would like to introduce some ZOOMER custom parts to take a look at now in the year 2023!
Let's check out exhausts first!
After all, the exhaust is always the first step in customization! GP pipes and short silencers look good and are always a favorite for their racer-like looks!
Points to consider when selecting an exhaust
- If you are planning to lower the bike or install wider tires, make sure to check whether this will interfere with the exhaust.
- Changing the exhaust is the best first step for customization! It will improve both styling and performance!
Rin Parts|Breathing GP Racing Type Ti Exhaust
The Breathing GP Racing Exhaust is a classic exhaust from Rin Parts, a big name in ZOOMER customization. I used to use one myself. This Type Ti is made of stainless steel, but features a titanium color reproduction using titanium blast treatment! It is designed to prevent rubbing against the exhaust pipe even if it is installed on a lowered bike or one customized with a wider rear wheel, so you can start out with it at the beginning of your customization and still continue to use it for a long time!
HOT LAP|FUTOMAKI Exhaust
One brand that is making the hottest exhausts for 4-minis these days is HOT LAP! This "FUTOMAKI" (which means "fat sushi roll" in Japanese) has a short silencer shape, and looks good on anything from stock to heavily customized bikes with wide tires and extended wheels. Also, I just really like the name!
Rin Parts|Splendid Triangle Sports
If you like massive delta silencers, this is the exhaust for you! There are two colors to choose from: black and silver! The exhaust pipe is made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel.
For ZOOMER customization, it's gotta be the frame!
The ZOOMER is a naked scooter with a bare frame. Since the frame is the most distinctive feature it is standard practice to customize it.
Points to consider when customizing the frame
- A lowered seat frame is the standard!
- Combine it with a floor frame for a more custom look!
KIJIMA|Seat Frame
Replacing the seat frame is a standard customization! This seat frame can lower the seat by 55mm without changing the stock shape. It is recommended for creating low (& long) styling!
Rin Parts|Lowered Seat Frame
This frame lowers the seat by about 80mm which gives a considerably lower impression! By the way, ZOOMER stock seat rails are rather easy to replace, so we recommend a seat frame as one of your first customizations!
Rin Parts|Axle Slider Plus R
This is an axle slider to protect your bike in the event of a fall. It is machined from aluminum and comes in bright colors, so it looks great as a dress-up part!
ai-net | Plated Step Floor Frame Kit
This floor frame is installed by removing the stock floorboard! The combination of a lowered seat frame and this floor frame will give the ZOOMER a very custom look! It also comes with thick Φ33 foldable footpegs, which will add stability!
HURRICANE|Step Bar
This step bar is recommended for customization utilizing the stock floorboard! It can be easily bolted on to stabilize foot position.
RISE CORPORATION|Plated Handlebar Post with Meter Bracket
The stock high handlebar is nice, but if you are going for a lower styling, you'll want to customize it! This chrome handlebar post is what you want to use in such a case! It also comes with a meter bracket, so it is easy to relocate the stock meter!
TOKYO PARTS|[ZOOMANIA] Dry Carbon Frame Brace
This frame brace is designed to increase the rigidity of the main aluminum frame by tightening it together with the steel frame! This is exactly the kind of part you expect from TOKYO PARTS, who have released many parts that not only improve the styling but also the performance of the ZOOMER. The material used is ultra-lightweight high-strength carbon.
Stand out by customizing the electrical system!
The unique twin-lens headlight still turns heads, but if you want to stand out even more, you'll definitely want to add something to it! Fortunately, compared to other scooters, the ZOOMER is easy to customize, so definitely play around with it!
Points to consider when customizing the electrical system
- If you want to keep that twin-lens face, check out popular customizations in the US!
- You can get a sleeker look by using compact turn signals!
TOKYO PARTS|[ZOOMANIA] Headlight Guard
If you want to customize the stock headlights, we recommend this headlight guard! It is a very popular custom item because of its low price and the ability to change the look of the headlights. Installation is just a matter of attaching with a band!
TOKYO PARTS|[ZOOMANIA] LED Headlight & Bracket Kit
For a sharper look, this LED headlight is the best choice! The LEDs lined up in a row provide brightness and give the front area of the bike a new look. To install, simply use the included bracket and connect to the stock headlight coupler! No wiring modification is required!
Rin Parts|Big Eyes Kit
Looking at ZOOMER customs from the US, don't you feel like the headlights are kind of big? That's right! The headlights on the ZOOMER, or Ruckus, sold in North America are in fact larger. We recommend this Big Eyes Kit for USDM-style customization to reproduce the big eyed look! The stock harness and bracket can be used as is, so you can easily give your bike a makeover!
Rin Parts|Integrated LED Turn Signals / Tail Light Ver.4
This is my personal favorite tail light customization! It is a cool tail light shaped like the one on the early Yamaha MT-09. The turn signals are also integrated for a stylish look! It is mounted under the seat frame and looks great when the frame has been lowered!
