 9 min read

The famous brand YOSHIMURA, has released two exhausts for Yamaha's new XSR125, which came out in December of 2023. One is a round type and the other a sporty unique shape. We hope to be able to see them at one of the big motorcycle shows in March!

A simple round type and a sporty unique type set be to released!

Last year, Yamaha released the YZF-R125, R15, MT125 and XSR125 to great acclaim and YOSHIMURA, a long-established aftermarket exhaust manufacturer, has begun taking orders for compatible exhausts. Of these, their exhausts for the popular XSR125 are the most noteworthy. Two types, the Machine Bent GP-MAGNUM Cyclone and the Machine Bent R-77S Cyclone will be released. Both are currently available for order and are scheduled to go on sale in late May.

The GP-MAGNUM Cyclone features a simple round silencer that blends in with the retro style of the XSR125. YOSHIMURA's unique parts, such as dimpled rivets and riveted bands, are placed throughout. The characteristic of this exhaust is that it delivers abundant torque from the moment you open the throttle, and the sound has a strong pulse. It delivers a sporty ride up to high rpm while providing comfort at low and mid speeds.

Material: Stainless Steel, Proximity exhaust noise: 90dB/5000rpm, Acceleration noise: 77dB, Weight: 2.3-2.6kg

■The round silencer and black and gold emblem are perfect for the XSR. The "GP-MAGNUM" logo is engraved on the end part. Available in three types: SS (Stainless Steel Cover, pictured), STB (Titanium Blue Cover), and SC (Carbon Cover).

The R-77S Cyclone features a sporty design with a unique race-derived shape and carbon end. The silencer has sufficient capacity to achieve both increased power output and noise reduction performance. The power characteristics are particularly remarkable after 7500 rpm. The more the rpm is raised, the more dynamic the sound is, making it ideal for those who want to make the XSR125 more sporty.

Straight Cyclone that accentuates the 70's look! Will we see the real thing in March?

A teaser site for the XSR125 Straight Cyclone has also been launched, with orders to begin in early spring 2024. The Straight Cyclone is a custom exhaust that became a trend in the 1970s, with its roots in the first merge collector pipe exhaust invented by the company's founder, Pops Yoshimura, in 1971. In recent years, it has been released for the Z900RS and other neo-classic models and has been gaining popularity. The design goes well with the XSR. And that's to be expected, since the first generation XSR900 and many other XSR series models are infused with the essence of the XS-1 and other famous models from the '70s and '80s. The '70s-style Straight Cyclone fits perfectly with that classic look. As of yet there has not been a Straight Cyclone released for a Yamaha model, so this XSR125 version might be the start of these classic style exhausts coming out for Yamaha bikes. The release date for the Straight Cyclone has not yet been determined, but we hope to be able to see the actual product on display at one of the big motorcycle shows in March!
