Revolutionizing Rear Suspension: Z900RS Custom
0024Works' Z900RS
0024Works has started handling a new rear shock created for the Z900RS. The parts are made by Bilstein, a well-known manufacturer also recognized for their shocks in the four-wheel industry. These shocks allow for adjustment of initial load and extension side damping force. In this particular customization, the body is black, the spring holder and adjuster nut are red, and the spring is white.
The black body color is the standard color for this shock. The spring is a lighter metallic brown, while the spring holder and adjuster nut are also a lighter metallic blue. In this custom, the aforementioned color scheme has been applied to match the bike's main color. If you look closely around the shock, you'll notice that even the link plate connected to the rear side of the shock is red. This is another custom part created by the owner, made from machined aluminum, with bolt hole positions and link ratios identical to the stock model. With the combination of the rear shock and body color, you can achieve a coordinated overall look. Additionally, the aluminum frame plugs (a set of 6, with 3 installed on each side) are brand new parts. Of course, all these parts are designed specifically for the Z900RS/CAFE. In this customization, not only was the color changed overall, but carbon wheels were also installed. During the meticulous selection process of various Z900RS parts, the owner eventually came upon the shock and other custom parts, which have now been reflected in this bike.
Handle
An American Dream made café racer cowl kit for the Z900RS is installed slightly lowered to match the clip-on handlebars, along with a smoke windshield. To reduce the inertia around the handlebar area and achieve a sporty look, Magical Racing NK-1 Mirror Type 3 heads are mounted on the cowl. As for the blinkers, LED ultra-compact Kellerman lights were chosen, and they are installed on the cowl sides and the rear of the side covers.
Hurricane's clip-ons are clamped under the top bridge, which eliminates the need for handlebar risers. To cover the bolt holes resulting from this modification, a 0024Works original top bridge cover is installed. The front master cylinder is a Brembo Corsa Corta, while the clutch holder is from Koken. The exterior components, including the fuel tank, are wrapped in a red-based tiger color scheme.
Bodyworks
The seat has been changed from the previous tuck roll-type double seat to one that resembles a single seat with a stopper-like design on the rear. The upholstery has also been changed to a diamond stitch pattern. The side cover emblems remain as stock. The overall aesthetic balance achieved by these modifications is worth noting.
Frame
The 948cc liquid-cooled DOHC 4-valve straight-4 engine and tubular steel trellis frame are stock. Original 0024Works frame plugs were added to each part of the frame. Red was selected here to match the bodywork. The sprocket covers are made by OVER Racing. The step kit is made by BEET and comes in black.
Chassis
The front brake consists of Brembo .484 calipers, SUNSTAR Premium Racing Disc, and American Dream floating pins. Axle shafts are KOOD chromoly. The inverted forks are stock Φ41mm with OHLINS FKS511 cartridge kit.
The swingarm is by OVER Racing, made of aluminum, and painted in matte black. The chain puller, stand hook, and drive chain are also changed from gold to red to ensure uniformity.
The new rear shock ENNEPETAL is made for the Z900RS, and here the springs are white and the adjusting nuts and spring holder is red. These fun additions are also noteworthy. The link plate and frame plugs are made by 0024Works.
Intake & Exhaust
The exhaust system is a 4-1 American Dream Neo made of full titanium with spiral collectors. The rear brake consists of Brembo P2 34 Calipers and SUNSTAR Works Expanded Disc. The rear wheels are Rotobox's Bullets, 3.50-17 for the front and 6.00-17 for the rear, wider than the stock ones.
