Track Thrills and Touring Chills: YAMAHA YZF-R6 Custom
Webike's Opinion
Here is a "YAMAHA YZF-R6" custom by Webike community user "Akaza". When it comes to the YZF-R6, it's often associated with track use, but according to the owner, it is actually great for everything from touring and camping trips to track days and even flat dirt roads (although it’s a bit scary, he says it’s fine to ride through them). The main reason he bought it was the looks —about 90% of his decision was based on appearance. He is totally in love with its design. He also loves how it transforms when revved above 8000 RPM, delivering astonishing acceleration. Additionally, its high cornering performance is so impressive that it leaves other riders behind on the track. It almost feels like his riding skills have improved, and he fully enjoys the thrill of leaning into corners. He's also a fan of the analog tachometer, which adds a fun, old-school touch, while the minimalist, battle-ready feel also brings him satisfaction.
To keep his beloved machine safe during overnight trips, he uses the ABUS Detecto 7000 RS1. He finds the alarm to be a strong deterrent, providing peace of mind with its loud volume, which can be heard from the parking lot to his hotel room. Using a trusted brand like ABUS also signals an investment in security. The ENDURANCE Grip Heaters have also played a key role in enhancing his touring comfort. He keeps them on all year round, and after four years of use, there has been no noticeable deterioration. During spring or fall trips to the mountains, when the weather turns colder than expected, he finds it reassuring to have a heat source readily available. Another part that the owner really likes is the U-KANAYA GP Type Aluminum Billet Levers. What stands out about them is that even after more than six years of use, they haven't faded, maintaining the same gold and red as when he first got them. He also appreciates the ability to adjust the lever position in six different settings.
