Tuned for the Trails and More Miles: YAMAHA WR250R Custom

Webike's Opinion

Here is a "YAMAHA WR250R" custom by Webike community user "pxd04615". Despite its lightweight frame, the WR250R packs plenty of power and maintains decent straight-line stability on the highway. Plus, with a fuel economy of around 30 km/l on touring rides, the owner has no complaints in that department. The photos capture the sense of adventure, showing him enjoying breathtaking nature with his beloved bike. However, the stock fuel tank’s limited capacity left him wanting more range. To fix that, an IMS Big Tank was installed, increasing capacity from the standard 2.0 gallons (7.6 liters) to 3.1 gallons (11.7 liters). Since it's made of plastic, it also helps keep the weight down.

For improved handling and comfort, the handlebars were replaced with PRO TAPER CONTOUR WOODS HIGH bars. Compared to stock, these bars have a reduced pullback angle and sit higher, making for a much more comfortable ride. The WR’s handling has become even more enjoyable as a result. Around the handlebars, the upgrades continue with ZETA components, a go-to brand for off-road riders. The ZETA Handlebar Clamp Kit allows fine-tuning of the handlebar position for optimal ergonomics. Additionally, ZETA Pro Armor Handguards and ZETA XC Protectors provide solid protection against off-road obstacles.

To improve footing, the bike has been fitted with a ZETA Adjustable Link Kit and TGR TECHNIX GEAR Soft Spring Set, making it easier to get both feet on the ground. For mirrors, the owner opted for the highly regarded TAKATSU Off-Road Mirror II. Its foldable design makes it convenient for riding through narrow forest trails and transporting the bike in a van, a favorite feature among repeat buyers.
