Built for Adventure and Expression: YAMAHA TW225E Custom
Webike's Opinion
Here is a "YAMAHA TW225E" custom by Webike community user "charlie". First introduced in 1987, the TW200, the predecessor of the TW225E, is the very bike that carried an adventurer to the North Pole, the first-ever motorcycle to reach it in history. Over time, its oversized off-road tires, slim frame, and affordable price caught the attention of younger riders who favored street fashion, making it a popular base for custom builds. The owner of this TW225E admits that his bike has strayed far from its original form, but that just goes to show how much room there is for customization. In fact, he enjoys switching up the style, sometimes going for a café racer style and other times, he brings it back to a more stock-like appearance.
A lover of forest trails, he chose the TW225E for one key reason: its "low combat power" keeps him out of trouble. The bike’s small size, comparable to a 125cc, along with its lightweight chassis makes it easy to handle. While it’s not the most powerful machine out there, it offers a fun ride, especially when carving through winding mountain roads. Plus, its air-cooled single-cylinder engine is simple enough for him to handle maintenance and repairs on his own.
One of his go-to upgrades for off-road riding is the Ariete MotoGP Replica Grips. With a refined pyramid-shaped texture designed for a more secure hold, these grips give the rider the feeling that his right hand and the throttle are completely in sync. He has also equipped this TW225E with an exhaust, clip-on handlebars, seat cowl, and rearsets from AN-BU, a brand that prides itself on “going against trends” to create unique parts that stand out. These retro-styled custom parts give his bike a strong presence. For him, customization isn't just about performance or appearance; it's a way to express himself. Choosing parts from brands that share his philosophy strengthens his connection to the bike and makes the entire experience even more satisfying.
