The Original Garage Chopper: YAMAHA SR500 Custom by 2%er
2%er's SR500
The bike presented here embodies the essence of 2%er. It is a garage chopper-style custom reminiscent of 60s B-movies. The owner, who also owns a Harley-Davidson Panhead, chose the SR500 as his additional bike of choice because "it doesn't break down, and you don't have to worry about it." Naturally, he did not want to keep it in stock condition; his order was, "I want to be able to ride fast while maintaining a comfortable position! And with a styling that differs from others." So the builder, Mr. Yamaguchi, came up with the concept, "a garage chopper reminiscent of 60s B-movies." Also, the bike was built to blend in alongside vintage bikes such as Panheads.
When you look at the details, the first thing that catches your eye is the original parts installed all over. From the headlight to the electrical box, from the pullback handlebar to the aluminum hub caps, and even the seat and fork joints are original! While SR parts are released from various Japanese manufacturers and shops, the collection of original parts by 2%er is truly a lineup of one-of-a-kind pieces. Of course, this machine is merely in the 'style' of a garage-built chopper. So, from the engine to the strength of parts, the high-quality one-off parts, and even the wiring, are meticulously finished as the work of a professional. As a result, the 2%er SR custom not only handles city rides with ease but also tackles long tours effortlessly, bringing a new breeze to SR customization. Their creations are sure to continue drawing attention in the future.
